Have a good look at the construction files here;

http://www.theamya.org/boats/us1m/us1mcons.php

This is all tried and tested info, and should help.

Edward.

I'm also building one. I'm just about done with the hull, and ready to join the hull and keel. if you've got any questions, give me a holler, I may be able to tell you my experiences.

This too is my first ever scratch built yacht.
I'm up to the stage of rigging it up. I've converted a servo to do complete revolutions, and purchased a winch drum. I've also got a long servo arm. I'm somewhat confused as to how the rigging connects to the two booms, it's not all that clear in the book. Does anyone have any photo's of how it should be
