Title: Registration Letters
Post by: Nordsee on August 12, 2010, 04:59:35 pm
I am building a 1900s Fish Cutter, the model is of a North German boat, but she looks like a British fishing craft of the same era so I have decided to make English!! I wondered if anyone knows when Fishing boats first got letters and numbers, and also does anyone know what letters Dungeness (Kent),Lydd (Kent) and Rye (Sussex) boats had? Folkestone has FE, but I used to live in Lydd and would like to have her have Lydd as Home Port. Anyone help ? Thanks.

The port registration letters are only unique in the country of registration e.g. B Belfast, Boulogne, Blankenburg.
