This is my interpretation of the CONFORM concept strategic nuclear submarine from the cold war days. It's based on a much modified Trumpeter Seawolf kit, and uses a water ballast system to submerge.
The new top deck part was cut from a Trumpeter Kilo top deck, a section removed, and then rejoined and filled.
Still trying to work out what colour scheme to use...black all over, or black topsides and red anti foul below the water..not sure yet.
First pic is the only image I could find to work from, it's a page from a book entitled 'Cold War Submarines'.
Sorry about the poor quality pics, my digital camera is on it's last legs I fear.

What's that bit of insulating tape for on the battery compartment?

It's a rubber strip, it goes round the wtc and secures the ballast bag in place, I made it from an rubber exercise band the hospital gave me for exercising my shoulder muscle.
