Post by: long bill on September 16, 2010, 04:13:34 pm
HI All,

Just joined the forum

I have been building models of various kinds for over 60 years.  I really love it especially in retirement when I have the time.

I also race RC sailboats.  I have Victoria and ODEM class boats.

Other interests include G Gage trains, RC gliders and other electric airplanes and building dollhouses.

I live in Las Vegas, but don't get to the casinos much.  Gambling is not one of my interests.

Attached are a couple of pictures of some of my work.

Later,

Bill M

hello Bill, there can't be much sailing water in Vegas, or do you use the fountains :}. Also what's the position on boat clubs? Are there any?

Thanks Wullie

garston1

Actually we have a lot of parks with lakes here in Las Vegas.

Here is the link to our sailing club:  http://oacesyachtclub.org/

The lake we sail on is in a private community on there community lake.

We don't have any clubs that are into scale model ships like in the UK.

I wish we did.

to outsiders, or to me anyway, vegas has always seemed to be what you see on CSI, lights, clubs, bars, gambling etc. I'm glad i'm wrong and model boating (or yachting) is alive and well. thanks for the link Bill. :-))
