Title: What are they
Post by: RaaArtyGunner on October 10, 2010, 02:35:14 am
Has any one got a clue what these are.
Made of Brass ?
The 'off/on' switch ?  is approx 145mm diameter.
The other is approx 120mm diameter
May be Australian and Naval in origin as Ikara Missile is marked on the smaller selector plate?

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm >>:-(...where did you get this..... RaaArtyGunner ?

The fact that it also displays MK68 [director]....confirms that it is a rotary locking switch for monitoring functions within the FCS [fire control system] of an OZ owned Charles F Adams DDG class destroyer, but localised to the Australian designed Ikara ASW & sonar ASW

ie., HMAS Hobart, Perth or Brisbane ....the only other world navy to purchase the IKKY bird [Ikara]  was from memory Brazil  O0

There is no reference to the DDG's 5"/54 calliber FMC gun mounts nor the FMC GMLS MK13 [guided missle launcher system]

Even though the twin [port & stdb] Ikara launchers were mounted on deck level just fwd of boiler2 funnel....they were technically the responsibility of the underwater people ...where   {-) %% clealy I was above water  %) :o
