I would try a leopard 4070, 2200Kv on 4s lipo with a 42mm prop and run a 200amp esc.which im doing at the right price :-))
-
Mine has a Medusa 3680-1600V2SE,will run on 5S lipo..and occasionally on 6S.Etti 150 Esc with extra cap. bank.
-
Hi,
Thanks for the advice! Could you please advise me where i can purchase either of these setups from?
Thanks

The Leopard motors are from Astec models and hes got the cooling jackets aswell and also the motor mount for motors aswell
as for esc i can get you the esc at the right money
-
Hi,
Ive spoken to the guy at astec models, he says that a 5xl motor is the one to go for and thats approximately £50. Which speed controller would i need for this?

Go for the BEST one you can afford ok2 As amps go what will hold a a lot will hold a little.

As you have helped me in the past, please may i ask what motor you have in yours?

Its out of the box A.R.T.R from Astec 2770kv motor Suppo 125amp E.S.C 35mm metal prop running on 4s 3000mah. I had to put 1.5 kilos of lead in to calm it down a bit :o As it kept taking off !
-
I think what i will do is first save then buy a motor from as tec and everything to mount it and cooling system and then i will buy a cheap esc from eith giant cod or f1 madness!

Just make sure you program the E.S.C for the cell numbers/type , timing ect/ Or it might well all end in tears {:-{ Oh & DON'T over prop !
-
Hi John,
My boat has a metal prop on it! I think its an octura 1 and it measures 3cm from one blade to the other. And regarding esc's i was going to either get a giant cod 200amp or one of f1 madness.
Thanks
Ben :D

Hi,
The only possible problem may be that the esc is not programmable but can accept lipo batterys from 1-7 cells?
Thanks
Ben

My E.S.C can be programmed From 4s - 8s. Ran it this morning & it's MORE than fast enough on 4s :o
-
Hi,
i think if it can have 1-7 cells then it should be fine, cayse i dont want lipos sitting around that are not suitable for my boat:D
