I'm sure they have a reason for going on strike , but where as 30 years ago you only had a couple of channels and everything stopped if the BBC went down we have more channels then we care about , more news channels than news so in reality who's bothered.!!

I watched the 6o/clock national news tonight and every face was a new face. Apart from that all seemed well and things proceeded as normal.

As a licence payer can I therefore suggest that the BBC sack their highly paid "known face" news readers and stick with the cheaper alternative.

I am devoted fan of the Australian version....called the ABC ....& we have a number of sub channels under the umbrella of the ABC

We also have ABC radio & whilst driving I listen exclusively to ABC 97.3 FM  :-))  O0  :P   :D ....Derek

hi netleyned   bbc west cannot get it on 101 but playing around with the box received bbc scotland on 960  cannot realy moan i pay no licence fee at 79   years/11 months

Is that the station that keeps running The Goons, Derek? Couldn't believe my ears, picked it up by chance on the car radio up near Cairns.

 {-)...good to hear from you Jonty   :D : ...I think the Goons are reserved for your BBC audience....... ABC 97.3 FM in OZ is pretty good....

each day @ midday we have the cattle & sheep auction prices

& the I go to the butcher & find the price of lamb cutlets is x 4000% higher than the farmer was paid @ auction  >:-o >>:-(

  Same here re meat prices, but I can assure you I wasn't on the Bundy when I heard The Goons in Oz.
