hi guys i have a question for you i have a ferrule here thats threaded at the stub shaft side ,should i get a threaded shaft to fit ? or drill out the threads to accept an unthreaded shaft?.then i will need to drill and tap the ferrule for grub screws also.the other problem is i havent seen any threaded 1/4 shafts anywhere most are m5 threads .thanks !!.

Guess this is the one you got from Jamie ;) I would keep the threads and find a shaft to fit or make one. Could be from Top Secret http://topsecretboats.com/inc/sdetail/205 (http://topsecretboats.com/inc/sdetail/205) or Warehouse Hobbies http://www.easycart.net/whobbies/Drive_Components.html (http://www.easycart.net/whobbies/Drive_Components.html)
To me it would be a backward move to drill out and then use grub screws. See if Blue Fishy http://www.bluefishy78.com./ (http://www.bluefishy78.com./) has them or ask Dave Marles for just a blank.

I know that the fast electric boys use loctite to hold the threaded prop end on the shaft, and they develop quite a lot of thrust.
