Title: Downloading new forum topic speeds
Post by: rayna on November 17, 2010, 07:51:31 pm
{:-{ Hi I am a computer beginner so am not sure where my downloading problem lies. I am having to wait minutes to download new topic forums and sometimes they just stop and do not download at all. My question....is it my internet provider or the web page server that causes this. Previously downloads have been quick. Getting this "new topic" template was quick. Getting into the "Electrical and Black Art" stuff took ages and into "brushed motors" just never got there.
Any help appreciated.

Could be either of a few problems, main one would be your service provider, at peak times it can be slow so check your net speed, (least you know if your slow or not then)
Try clearing the forum cookies from your explorer options.
could be your browser its self, try downloading google chrome, or firefox. (ie 8 is pretty crap in comparison)
it could be the forum its self maybe its very busy with users, its bandwidth limit is drawing close or the server needs resetting.

try the first 3 see if they improve your service.  :-))

See Martin's post - its a server issue.

"Apologies, server problems again this morning.
This is being addressed with the hosting company."
