hello all
i tried a brushless esc and motor combo today and for some reson the motor tries to start goes a bit then stops and does this again and again and again it and afterreapting this cycle it starts up and kicks into life why does it do this

ive had a brushless motor , and before use the esc needed programing ! have you set yours up ?

But on a more serious attempt: if we are to give really helpful advice, we should have the following data:
- Type of the brushless motor (inrunner / outrunner) plus essential data (voltage range, rpm per Volt, max Amps under load)
- Data of the ESC (voltage range, max. continuous current in Amps)
- Type of boat you want to propel with the motor/esc combo (Tug or raceboat? size?)
- Size and type of the prop you are using
- Which voltage are you feeding through the drivetrain
A link to the vendor site of the motor/esc-combo might be helpful as well.
The very brief description you give in your initial post leads me to suspect the motor being loaded too high, i.e. the boat and/or the prop being too big or the wrong type for the motor, thus pulling enough current to run the ESC into the safety-cut-off.
But a more educated guess can only be given if and when we have answers to the above questions.
