Guys,
Can you give me an idea of which hulls/plans I could use to model the Greenock Tug 'Warrior'?
David ???

...Hi Dave...
You have picked the only one that hasn,t got a kit available...
Tyne Models produce the "FLYING PHANTOM" & "FLYING SPINDRIFT" in kit form...
Mobile Marine Models produce "ELDERGARTH" which is now "SHANNON"
Jan Meerbeek produces a Damen 3110 model in kit ("SVITZER MULL" or (SVITZER MALLAIG") This kit is a bit too small for Tug-Towing...
If you contact Svitzer at their offices in Greenock they might be able to get you a set of plans for "WARRIOR"... Or go down to James Watt Dock & speak to the guys on the tugs...They are normally very helpful...
I will have a wee look around Tonight to see if i can find anything out for you...
"WARRIOR" was built in Japan ( I think) So this might be a bit harder to get plans....
...See You on Sunday...Best Regards...Norry...

I was looking at the Eldergarth model on the MMM webpage, looks quite nice, the boys all told me they had a great time on Sunday, loking forward to returning the hospitality on Sunday, see you then. ;D

Norry, you can hardly compare the Damen 3110 ASD tug design to the design of the Svitzer M-type. Alltough of almost similar size these designs are quite different in many points of construction. The Svitzer M-types were designed at UAB Baltic Engineering Centre (www.bec.lt), a subsidary of Odense Steelshipyard.
