I'm getting a set of the ANB plans for the Saipem Due for Christmas. I'm planning to build the boat in 1/72 scale, which will give me a length of just under 72", and a displacement of approximately 42 pounds.

I've read on this forum that you have had some experience with the Graupner VSP units. Between the two VSP aft and the two (retractable) VSP up forward on the Saipem Due (a total of four), do you think the model would be underpowered?

If anyone knows if the ship still exists, and what the color scheme would be (I've seen one model with a black hull and yellowish upperworks- is this correct?) i would surely appreciate the information.

I think that with four drives, the ship might move quite nicely.
I imagine that some of the tugs that get built weigh at least 20 lbs.

Do you have a link to ANB, and their plan catalog?

I was fortunate enough to find a set of the plans on eBay, but I think you can also get their sets from Loyalhanna Dockyard, as well as from the ANB web site. I have a few other of their sets and they are very nice, highly recommended.
