Title: Hummingbird 20
Post by: Max Buoy on February 18, 2007, 12:16:00 am

Can anyone enlighten me as to the spec of this motor?  My Huntsman 31 has a Hummingbird 20 motor in it and I would like to know the performance fact & figures. The boat is reasonably quick using a 32mm 2 blade prop and a 9.6 NiMH but not quite quick enough to achieve a good 'plane'. I 'm thinking about upgrading it but need to know what I've allready got first.

Here is some data for your motor:

1580 RPM per Volt

1.3 Amps - no load current

150 milliohm resistance

Have a look at this table for a more powerful motor.

I really like the 8.4v Graupner 700BB Turbo. It will probably be a bit bigger than your Hummingbird and has a 5mm shaft. I used a 9.6v 700BB motor on 12 cells in a similar sized boat to yours and it certainly had no shortage of power connected to a 35mm prop.

Once again Thanks Niel..... I've got a Walkera 2500 Brushless motor which I'm going to try, if I can work out the wiring... but if that fails I'll try the 700BB.

Thanks

Max....
