Title: Damen Stan Tug 1907
Post by: norry on December 24, 2010, 05:39:14 pm
...Hi Guys...

My latest Tug Project is a 1/32 scale Damen Stan Tug 1907...
I am using a hull from MMB,s  ASD Tug Kit...The motor will be a 12 volt Decaperm driving a 70mm Kort prop in a Steerable Kort Nozzle...
A Graupner 1785 Bow Thruster & Working Towing Winch will also be fitted...Should be a Pwerful Wee Unit...

Here are some pictures of the build so far....The Stand has been built...The indents on the hull have been filled in...A Pushbow has been added...Next its a coat of resin on the bare wood and then several coats of Primer paint to the Hull...

...Best Regards...Norry...

Hi Norry, did you buy the complete kit or just the hull from MMB's?

...Hi Davy...                                   ...A Happy New Year To You...

I bought the full kit from another member of our club to build as an ASD Tug but when I checked out the Dimensions of the hull I realised it was not too far away from the Stan Tug 1907... A few wee bits to fill in and its just perfect...This tug will be called "CLAYMORE"

So are you going to build the "BRUISER" then ?...Do you ever see Robert at the club...I was wanting to ask him about the original "STANTUG" that i sold to him a couple of years ago...

I have since bought another hull seperate from Mark so that I can complete both projects...The second tug will be built as the ASD Tug and called "WEE MAN" after my Father who passed away last month...

Here are some more pictures of the progress so far...Running Gear Fitted...Bow Thruster Fitted...First Coat of Primer on the relevant bits...

...Best Regards...Norry...

...Hi Guys...

Here are a couple of pictures of my Damen Stan Tug 1907 sitting besides Johnny,s Damen Stan Tug 1906 ALBANACH...

These will be a pair of Mini Tugs for Tug-Towing next year...

The wheelhouse of the 1907 is still a bit rough but will be finished off this week...

...Hi Stormbringer...

Thanks for the reply...

ALBANACH is tried & tested at Tug-Towing competitions for a few years now...
She is to undergo a Winter Refit including a new motor & Bow Thruster fitted...

The 1907 is the newer model from the Damen Shipyards...

I will see how the 1907 performs then I will get started on the third of the fleet...An ASD tug as MMB,s plans...Whether it will be single or twin screw depends on the performance of the 1907...

...Best Regards...Norry....
