Title: Springer batteries, any body have luck with the ones from hong cong?

Luck can be good or bad!
There are hundreds available. Is price any indcation of quality? I'd sorta figured on two lipo's in parallel  for my high torque/low speed motor.
I think to have it up & running before the Ice breaks up.

Seeing as you will need ballast.
I would have thought that big old sealed lead acid batteries, having a big amperage rating, would be more suitable than super light lipos.

Just my thoughts.

Standard Springer, just use 2 6 volt 4 AH in parallel, High torque low RPM indicats it will be a low amp motor as well. SuperSpringer well then.......

To answer your question, the Hobby king ones are fine, I'm staring at 10 AH 27 volts of Turnigy on my bench, work OK for me :-))

I run my 18" springer (Models By Design hull) on a 7.2v 4500mAh battery, she'll sail all day on it.  Have got 2 in the hull that act as ballast, if 1 gets a bit low just swap them over. Motor is a Graupner 500eco driving a 40mm prop, Marine 15A esc. I was going to fit a sealed lead acid but no point really. Cheers, Dave.  :-))
