Are we talking about Four motors ?

If so then an RSC would be needed for each one, so it's a question of maximum amps per motor, so I would start of with a 20 amp version fused to 15A for a trial.

Regards

Ken

Is it possible to bench test one motor connected to an ammeter?

Just connect it to a battery direct and squeeze the drive shaft between a cloth and watch the meter.  (carefully watching the fingers eh!!)

You might be surprised as to how little amps you really need.

Ken

ps

I use Mark's 900 motors on 15A esc's
