Title: Sea Jet Evolution build, help needed!

I'm currently building the sea jet evolution, has anyone else built one, as i'm having difficulty understanding how the motor mounts can be removed once the deck has been glued on, Any help would be appreciated..

There is a review in the current edition of model boats . Have not read it as yet but could be worth getting a copy

I thought that you fully bond the motor mounts in prior to fixing the upper body down on to the lower hull and once in place, they are not then removable. you should still be able to remove the motor mounting bolts once all in situ, if its anything like my robbe sea jet.

make sure you use some abrashive paper to clean all surfaces for bonding, dont leave them shiny or the expopy glue wont even stick to it.

yes, good write up in this months Model boats mag, but does not fully cover every aspect of the build.

Thanks for replies. Have now fully built the evo version, write up in MB mag could have been better, a lot of stuff was missed out. The motors and their mounts are removeable when model is fully built, but its not easy! Mind you, once youv'e set up the programmable speed controllors, manually (no programming card) a right pain, it goes well, very well indeed...

Its good to hear you have sorted it out, but do you have any pictures you can share with us all of the actual build.

Yes, I'll try to upload some pics, Once the EVO's in the water, it steers like its on rails!, very sharp handling responce, and if you take your eyes of it for a second, then your sure to be taking it home in a plastic bag. Very enjoyable though and it even sounds like its trying to emulate the real thing when its on the lake. One of the odd things in the build is that you have to glue the deck onto the hull with black silicone sealant provided in the kit by robbe, it even dries like kitchen sealant, but seems to work. All other glueing has to be done with stabilit express or super glue, any other type of two part epoxy won't work, even UHU Acrylit isn't very good on this kit. But having said all that the end justifies the means and it looks and handles very well on the water.

Wow the insides of this model are very impressive....how neat and tidy is that lot!
