Generally - the day car is a white Golf GTD.........
However - for luxury at the pondside at at shows...........this is our usual mode of transport : 27' long 2 berth Mercedes Autotrail motorhome with a 'garage' at the rear big enough to transport our 7' long SD14.
A bit heavy on fuel though {:-{.

A very comfortable Toyota Corolla and this :-

I have owned my Jaguar XJ6 since 1988.
It only has 82,000 miles on the clock.
I converted the automatic transmission to a 4-speed over-drive manual, added a rear suspension torsion bar, ventilated rear brake rotors, dual HD8 SU carbs, direct-coupled flex radiator fan, Mallory Uni-Lite electronic distributor, spin-on oil filter, V-12 radiator, polyurethane rubber suspension parts.
The next conversion will be center-lock hubs with D-Type wheels.
It has much of the feel of an Series III XKE.
Regards,
Giovanni
-
I drive a Vauxhall Vivaro LWB 2.5 152BHP van during the day for work and travelling to race meetings etc. with my yachts and for pleasure I have a Nissan 350Z Roadster 296BHP which is absolutely of no use to my hobby or family but I don't care I luv it :}
PS. got no pictures of my car but this ones the exact same but RHD

I am a Mondeo man, don't laugh, I love the cars and they never let me down.
I have a 1993 2.0 Si saloon with full factory fitted RS body kit that is as clean underneath as it is on top.
a 1996 1.8 diesel turbo saloon that is slow, sluggish but gets 600 miles to a tank of juice (and as I also have a cafe at the moment looking into running it on old veg oil as I go through 20 litres a week when I clean fryers)
and a 2000 1.8 lx hatchback that is played with a bit, full leather Ghia X interior, lowered 40mm, 2 litre cams and throttle body and induction kit (this little tweak gives it more power than the 2 litre and because the flywheel is lighter it revs faster)
and at weekends in the summer I can be found crewing and getting in the way with this beast.
Mk1 Vauxhal Cavalier with a 454ci taken stroked to 575ci (9.4 litres) John Sleath built V8 700bhp on pump gas, 1000bhp on race gas and 400bjavascript:void(0);hp nitrous at the push of a button.

No, I'm afraid it's a much modified Gentry. Once I found out that Naylor would supply their car in kiy form I wished I'd got that instead! BY.

Chevrolet Captiva 3.2 LTZ in white.
The pic is off tinternet, but it is the same beast.
7 seater SUV, same set up as the Vauxhall/Opel Antara, but higher spec.
3.2L V6 engine.
5 speed Auto, but I wish they did a manual as the kick down cause a lag if you want to move.

We sold the Skoda Superb - lovely car, great mpg - after a £600 "service". :o
Now tootling around in a somewhat distressed Ford Ka, covered in vinyl flowers. (Note to Martin - there's no emoticon for "old hippy"). :-))

s that a Naylor TF Brian, or a gentry
Doors are hinged at the wrong end for a Naylor and Handles should be recessed.

i would love it bryan, but my wife would divorce me.........
i said after i sold my mgc roadster 2 years ago because i couldn't drive it due to arthritis in my shoulders and back that i wouldn't have another classic, so swmbo has the last word.......
could't afford it either, unless i sold my clyde lifeboat for mega bucks...
having said that though.....it would be a tough call to choose between your lovely motor and a nice scimitar gte with power steering and space to put a model in the back, .....anyone fancy a swap for a very large model lifeboat, lol %% %% %%
-
a nice scimitar gte with power steering and space to put a model in the back
Princess Anne had one of those :D
-
i had an se6a myself when we first got married,
went on our honeymoon in it in 1987 around the outer hebredes...WJH76T a great car in her day.....never missed a beat, and NEVER overheated.
wouldn't mind another.

His and hers transport - Had Nobby (thats the RAV ) from new - never broken down in 150,000 miles
SWMBO has Bisto(well look at the colour )for when the fossil fuel runs out and an 03 RAV for normal use.
Both great for the bad winter and towing the horsebox.
Debatable which costs the most to run.

Well need an estate with some room in the back to get all the boats in !
940 Se auto LPT with manual boost controller giving the motor 180 bhp instead of 135.
-
...Had Nobby (thats the RAV ) from new - never broken down in 150,000 miles...
Amazing vehicle the RAV4. When it first came out, almost everybody asked 'Why?', and thought 'identity crisis'. The point of the crossover SUV was not really appreciated at first. BUT the RAV4 was the first of a new class of vehicle.
Now nearly every major manufacturer has at least one crossover SUV/softroader in its range.

but i can get my 34" fireboat and 34" sea commander in the boot together and my club 500 in the passenger footwell
i made a plywood false floor to level the boot floor in the dip in the middle so my boats sit on their normal stands

I actually tried a Scimitar GTE a few years ago and was a bit disappointed with the space available. BY.
-
Disappointed with the space BY?
For you or your models?
I'm around 6 foot and find them large enough for me! Must admit that the tail hatch is a bit restrictive for getting large loads in though. Drop the rear seats (either one or both) and you get a nice large flat area for load lugging.
In reply to the other "comments", yes we all know of the Royal connection (still has a Middlebridge version - I think), and yes any owner will be sick of hearing the Top Gear muppets comments ie they overheat, they catch fire et al. And the most well known one about the Royal connection!
This is my second one, ran the previous one as my only car for about fifteen years. Wouldn't swap the marque. Value for money - 5stars.
Purely a personal opinion, of course. %)

must admit, sweeper..you summed it up perfectly.
i enjoyed mine, but would have prefared manual overdrive rather than auto, but it was a lovely comfortable drive, great fun, and didn't have to worry about body rust, lol.

Here's me getting into my Lotus 7, circa 1967. Only joking, got a permanently dirty but blue 2003 Peugeot 406 2.0HDi estate as the boat carrier, dogsbody and caravan towcar. Audie has her silver Peugeot 206cc cabriolet, nice in the summer with the roof down and warm in the winter. Only good for carrying my pusher tug or Sydney Star in though! We've bot got bikes too, Audie has got a 2010 Yamaha YBR125 and I've got a 2008 Honda ANF125 Innova scooter for the nice weather to save on fuel costs. Dave. :-))
-
Here's a pic of my work truck, good for getting through the traffic with! And the other cars I drive on occasion, bit of a slower pace though! Dave. :P

now that'd make a nice model boat carrier, {-) {-) {-) {-) %% %% %% %%

You could all the club's boats in the front one, and all the members in the one behind. Great way to go to the pond.

so long as you don't sail at DEAD water.......... {-) {-) {-) {-) {-)

They're on about changing the fleet sometime, they'd make great boat carriers. The only problem would be running them, 3litre V8's... {-) {-) {-)

once saw a funeral director's advert in the paper for his outdated fleet..always remember the final phrase in the advert....still makes me smille 30 odd years on.....

a black mountain slash road bike with a trailer attached to the back which i can fit 2 3/4 foot boats waders and tons of batteries and 5 remotes and i can add another boat or 5 foot ones if Ive brought my bungee straps
it broke down once at the traffic lights when the chain flew of its done thousands of miles and been through three sets of bike brakes (just for the back as the front is a disk brake)one set of outer tyre due to rubber wearing away and one set of inner tube due to puncture and one set of outer tyre due to puncture it goes every where with me and runs on whatever junk i can find in the fridge {-)

2005 MG ZS
(http://i321.photobucket.com/albums/nn399/netherways/ZS/ZS1.jpg)
(on a rare, clean, occasion)
Had plenty of MG's before but with a family now I needed something with 4 doors and a big boot and this fitted the bill nicely. Not old enough to drive around in a Rover 75 derivative yet so It had to be the ZS. The spoiler is a bit over the top but its grown on me and makes for a brilliant resting place for your boats while you fumble around for the keys after a sail.
Plus its got plenty of toys like climate control, heated seats etc, and I can get 410 miles out of 25 quids worth of petrol even at todays prices!

whats ugly about the spartan ? ,
I wouldn't call it ugly but it's also not the prettiest of cars, but afaic that goes with the territory of kit cars (unless you happen to have the kit car D-type or gt40)
-
lack of renault 25s to donate the gearbox to build a kit gt40 , but id quite like an xk engined jaguar myself , dad used to run both mk 9s & 10 up until i was 17 when he boughth an series 2 xj6 . given the choice id like a 420 or an s type ! for the time being i ll stick with my mk2 triumph 2500 !

builds them races them sells them

I did like the Mk II Triumph 2.5 P.I. considering it was the 70s they were great Patrol Cars on the M1 - Problem was not many
police mechanics knew anything about the injection system until we sent the to Triumph for the course, then we could get the
cars to fly.

Depends what you want it for, to burn/smash up/ drive over/drive over in a tank/chuck in a pond etc etc then I agree can't beat any scooter, but to ride.... I like things with engines ;D ok2

Some Lambi's may surprise you
http://100mphlambrettaclub.com/records.html
Mine which I spent a year rebuilding from a total wreck and rebuilt the engine with a tuned TS1 225 JB kit will happily cruise at 80 which is fast enough for me and gives a few folk a shock when it eases ast them with no difficulty. So not sure what your bike is Audie but dont be too sure your 125 bike will outrun me. Youd be shocked. Would even bet on my 166 tuned Vespa against any standard 125 bike. Looks can be deceptive. Mind you Id swap my Vespa 166 for a TV175 any day even if a standard tv 175 is far slower.
-
Once met a guy from Belfast called Norman (he'd just got married - 1993) who spent a fortune on Lambi's! I think he was addicted :-)
Wonder what ever happened to his collection?
Danny
-
these lambis / vespas look ok , but have a terrible reputation for reliability , while i was up & down the country making deliveries youd always spot one broken down ! as for the adornment of the mirrors and spot lights in front of the leg sheilds must slow them down even further ?
-
Yes Jon - but it gave the public a chance to look at their Parkas and Ben Shermans :-)
I had greasy jacket and a suedette waistcoat (over the top) [arrgh!] and rode round on an AJS 600 chopper pulling the birds (whose legs were liberally splattered with oil which I had to wipe off..)!
Ah - thank god for memories %) :-))
Danny
-
Modern Vespa's are a bit more reliable but being perrfectly honest my Li is only reliable as I changed the ignition to 12v and did a lot more things. An as built Lambretta with 6volt and poitns etc was very unreliable. The good thing though is that for the likes of the Normans of belfast, will never lose money even in the current recession. A basic lambretta frame as a barn find wil fetch a minimum of 500 quid from someone who wont even need to see it. They are appreciating all the time. The only exceptions is Indian built SILs or API lambrettas which arent sought after. A good well built as is Lambretta registered and MOT'd either British Registered or Italian will fetch a minimum of £2grand. A TV or a Silver Special etc then your looking at much much more. A good investment. Or at least thats what I tell the wife.
-
As a guide: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1970-INNOCENTI-LAMBRETTA-GP200-/200592927762?pt=UK_Motorcycles&hash=item2eb4452c12#ht_870wt_1139
But riding a scooter was more of a lifestyle statement.
Arriving at a nightclub dressed in a way to be allowed in.
The dress and music and of course girls were as important as the scooter.
I loved the old Lambrettas and ended up owning 7 in total, though never more than 2 at a time.
I never owned a GP but all those up to the GP including the SX 200 Special.

I wouldn't call it ugly but it's also not the prettiest of cars, but afaic that goes with the territory of kit cars (unless you happen to have the kit car D-type or gt40)

I run a Rover 75 CDTI Tourer with an auto box, the cheapest car I've had to run so far, I like the 75 it is a very nice car. I have also for over 7 years owned and kept on the road a 1980 Range Rover, that get's used on an if I need it basis, due to the price of fuel and her being a V8, would I have another, but of course I would. :}

time to put range rover onto lpg then ? departed mate had a dicso on gas which we used when our transit died one night , very economical to run as it cost less tan half what we were spending in the transit diesel !

About 1955/57 I was an apprentice A friend and I looked at the possibility of building a sports car using an Austin 7 chassis.
At that time a company was offering a fibreglass body for such a conversion.
We never actually did it as we couldn't afford it.
Anybody remember anything about it ?

It's powered by the 3 litre Ford Essex V6 - the Straight 6 had 2.5 llitre capacity and was only used on the very early SE4 models. Towards the end of production, there was an option for the 2.5 litre Ford V6.

After loosing me job the other day and after coming out of shock mode, I bought myself a 2nd hand car, (not from Tesco!)
very clean mota, the clutch is warn and a bit fierce but nothings fallen off it yet. (BIG thanks to Bradders by the way for
helping me so much with obtaining the car.) Anyways, this is the first car I've owned in 25 years as I've always had a company
car being a field computer engineer..... sigh, happy days. I've picked up some contract work for a few weeks but that come
to an end as the company (mega petroleum) hasn't given the sign off for the next phase of the project... interesting project,
mainly because the weather has been so nice recently.
Only a few things need to be done, Bradders did a quick service on it (thanks again), oil, plugs, filters... I didn't know cars still
had them! :o - with a company car, someone else pays for everything and it's a day off if it breaks down. :-))
I had a couple niggles with a few things on the car, ie I didn't know how certain things work, so I ordered an owners manual
from fleabay but it was the wrong model, I ordered another one which turned up today. I was reading through it while waiting
for Mrs Mayhem at Asda, I found out what the 2nd button does in the speedo and also found that there is a "document pocket"
under the passenger seat... special No.1 daughter promptly reaches under the seat and pulls out the full car owner manual and a
bunch or other useful stuff! {-) Nothing under the drivers seat except a bunch of wiring connected together with "chocolate block" connectors {:-{
Insurance was real cheap!! £400+ for a 1.4 Citroen Xsara :o
Also. I find myself driving a lot more carefully and economically than with the company car.
16 Ways to Recognize a Company Car
1. They travel faster in all gears, especially reverse.
2. They accelerate at a phenomenal rate.
3. They enjoy a much shorter braking distance.
4. They can take ramps & bumps at twice the speed on private cars.
5. Oil, battery, tire pressures and fluid levels do not need to be acknowledged until something makes a noise.
6. They have a much tighter turning radius.
7. The floor is conveniently shaped like an dustbin.
8. They only burn the cheapest petrol/diesel available.
9. They only need to be washed when a manager will be visiting.
10. They can be driven up to 100 miles with the oil warning light on.
11. They need cleaning less often, especially inside.
12. The suspension and trunk floor are reinforced to allow concrete slabs and other heavy building materials to be carried.
13. They are adapted to allow reverse to be engaged while the car is still in forward motion.
14. The tire side walls are designed for bumping into and over curbs.
15. Unusual and alarming engine noises are easily eliminated by the adjustment of the radio volume control.
16. No security is need. They may be left anywhere, unlocked, with the keys in the ignition.

How about this one folks.
Pure muscle power to move it No go faster stripes or brakes. Had to be towed up hill but down hill a 1in 4 was shear poetry.
I had a special set of “Blakies” fitted to the soles of my shoes which gave out an impressive display of sparks when braking
At the end of a good run there was a bucket of water waiting for me to cool my feet and put out the fire on the seat before it totally destroyed the car, obviously fireproof trousers were mandatory .
And oh yes it is me in the cockpit .There is a date stamp on the back of the photo 1943 which makes me about 4 years old
Sorry but on an earlier topic some time ago I said my first car was a Ford Popular. .

...I picked up an N reg Nissan Micra bout 3 years back with 42000 on it for £1000, after I pulled out the stock cassette deck and put in a decent Sony CD with MP3 capability and a pair of Kenwood speakers, it rocked for the past 20,000 miles for work, £15 a week now for petrol and cheap insurance.
But when the family does an outing with the dogs, or I have to transport the Northwind to the pond, its the family roadster, 56 reg Citroen Picasso.

fingers crossed we get under 9 seconds for the quarter, it normaly run it at 9.4 at 155mph (without nitros) but the team have been tweaking it and we will be running nitros this year (if all goes well)
-
that looks fun bungle , was it origanally lhd or is it just a grp body over a space frame ?
-
Its was a 1979 steel rhd car, but now the front end is grp (makes it easier to get to the 9.4 litre engine that way %%) the chassis was made to fit by a mate who built the car many moon ago and raced it with a 4.4 rover V8 out of a L76 Aussie Leyland car, It was called Pulse Rate back then and still holds the Rover V8 record at a couple of tracks 9.9 seconds, last year it was dug out sold to Gudge who races it now, with Steve who built it as crew chief, as you can see from the colour scheme and signs its raced to promote awareness for MS and the MS Trust, (out of the pit crew of 6 3 have MS. ) Its hard work racing and crewing but always fun, and puts a smile on everyone's faces at the track, plus we didn't do to bad last year coming 10th in the championship (again not back in a rookie year) this year we are going up a class, so will be interesting. If anyone has never been to a drag race I recommend it, you can walk around the pits, talk to the drivers and crews, look at the cars etc. I would say ear defenders are a good idea {-) I took Heather to a meet last year and she says her ear were still ringing 5 days later after standing track side as 2 top fuel dragsters went past (1/4 mile in 5.5 seconds at 262mph, setting off car alarms with the roar :} )

your right {-) I think I was over excited at the thought of 4 days of drag racing :-))
And forgot to say the reason that the car is converted to left hand drive is because of the throw of the engine, by putting extra weight on the left hand side it counter balances and help keeps the car straight.

Thank you Sir.
I thought as much, too heavy for us to shift, It will need a HGV if its to be transported.. mine will just fit on if the fuel tank is no more than half full, its all the airbags and electric motors etc etc etc...!
My old Granny 2.9 auto was 'only' 1350kg...an easy move and you couln't tell it was there!, I have a pic somewhere of her last trip...on the truck <:(
-
why do you need an hgv to move your car ? is the stated kerb weight with driver , full tank of fuel etc ?
-
Yeah isn't the point of a car is that you drive it and not carry it on a lorry?
-
Its going to Harwich and then being transported by ship to Turku Finland, the price..... a shade over 500quid with VAT
To drive it accross europe to Finland would cost a lot more when ferry costs are included
-

Yeah isn't the point of a car is that you drive it and not carry it on a lorry?
Hi there guy's.. Short explanation needed I think ! In my particular case..with the Granada.. I had to scrap it due to age and a starting problem, it was 23 years old and developed a wiring fault, I'd had enough of seeing the garage man and vice versa !!! as I didn't want to drive it we transported her to the scrap yard...here's a photo...
We move cars around the country for Dealer's... the majority are new and have to be delivered to the new owner (usually a company/ Gov dept/ etc) which could be any distance from the dealer's base...we have a trip from Devon to Glasgow this week, two driver's would be needed or 'trade platers' employed, you might see them on the road...they have red 'number' plates tied on to the car ?
There are weight limits for driver's which are strictly enforced by the autorities, you might have seen the police 'action' programmes on TV, many car's now.. 4x4's especially... would take a non HGV vehicle over the limit, you have to be careful and not exceed the total gross weight.
Our friend in Finland want's his new car taken over there, I don't expect he will want to come for it himself, so he needs a driver or some other method ? he could already have arranged transport...I wouln't mind having a look at his V8 Jag...!!!
Hope this explains my post above :-))

You are quite right, we had this problem a few years ago with my Range Rover.... The AA had bloke had to call for a bigger recovery truck as no one told him it was a RR

My son had a problem with the truck, called the breakdown people...sorry its to big they said..we can't carry it..he had a car on and total G/W was 3.4 tons...funny but he's with the AA now...and so am I... %)
He checked before joining that they would rescure/relay him and his Transit transporter when loaded..not needed them yet.
-
jab , have you never thought of uprating your transit with 5 tonne rear springs , its not the weight of the load being carried that causes our problems , as a rule its often the axle loading !

whats the most unusual you have transported jab ?
A most recent 'odd job'.. for us anyway...was to move a new A4 from the local dealer to Heathrow T5 (Its a wind up I thought..!) no its genuine...and its not going on a Jumbo...
OK...collect car 09.30, number plates haven't been fitted so they try to stick 'em on with thin double sided tape, no good and they have to do a proper job and screw them on, the key fob is an old one with a different dealers name on it, into the office for a new fob...well it is a new car so come on...! they can't find one so scratch that we're going.
Easy trip from here to Heathrow, 200 miles, we have the new owners mobile number and he has ours, do a Reece around airport and make a plan, ask that steward for advice...explain what the job is and ask where can we unload..park the A4 and find the guy...he's going to be 15 minutes early so that's good.
Steward says there's a petrol station at T4 so that will be ideal, find T5's short stay car park... there it is OK were on... plan into action..!
Arrive at T4, explain to the chap at the pay desk...and the Police who are watching...what the job is...no problem there...thank you guy's :)))
Unload and drive the A4 to T5 and park it up, stand outside the main doors and call the owner...he's already here and looking around but we haven't a clue what he looks like, where are you now Mr H*** ? guy next to me is obviously talking to my son on the phone...!!!
Drive Mr H*** to T4 and send him on his way in the A4, that was easy...lets go home..return trip...on a Friday, rush hour...back up the M/Ways 200 miles, took over 8 hours...flipping nightmare... O0
At least the car was delivered an the new owner went away happy.
We moved a Fiat 500 Abarth a few months ago, smart looking machine...tiny..! we could only tie the front wheels to the truck..! need more anchor points fitting %% {-)...
This business is only 6 months old...30k and 103 cars moved so far, all dealer jobs, hope we can find something interesting...was hoping for the V8 Jag but I expected it would be over the weight limit...and our friend in Finland would have an arrangement...I'll keep hoping.
Transporter is about 20 minutes away now..more later, time for some food.

pm sent jab ! . the most entertaining ive yet moved was a four wheeled HORSE DRAWN CART ! dropped a van to a paint shop for respray , & return load had been cancelled , rang office for next job and sent for what sounded like a small road sweeper , when i arrived on site i was pointed to this wooden cart with 6ft dia wooden wheels & steel tyres on . anyhow after a few mins of deciding best point to put winch cable it was hauled aboard ( 7.5 tonne slide n tilt ) strapping it down was entertaining as its against all normal recovery tasks ! as i left the site i was informed it was the first time in over 40 years it had moved . within five miles one of the wooden wheels decided to fall apart . my journey from slad ( glos ) to chippenham (wilts ) was completed at less than ten mph with this cart supported on a 10 tonne bottle jack on the bed ! !
-
Jon, PM seen and I'm about to study that... :-))
The cart story is hilarious...! some things that happen... well you couldn't make them up..Ha Ha Ha...I like it.
Passat estate is here, 2.0 TDI Bluemotion, lovely gold colour, kerb weight is 1570kg...!
here's a photo of a wheel...just to prove it...! that's a smart piece of work too.

Stav
-
stav, thats when i make her work ! i can do more than that if i go gentle on the gas, generally its 80-90mph + on the A50, hence the fuel use!
I said it WILL, not DOES wicky and back took £30 of fuel,
-
Wait till you get your nuclear car Ghostie, it`ll run for ever on a pellet in the tank and do 2000mpg and 2000mph on the M2000/formally A50. BUT they will be watching that you do not speed :police:

Very handy having my own car now, and the boot is a fair bit bigger than the boot of my GF's corsa! More model boat friendly.

1999 Dodge grand caravan for business, 1978 MG Midget for fun & also a Triumph TR8 needing TLC. I drive a 2005 Dodge Caravan daily, lots of room for my two Cocker Spanials & we have a 2009 VW GTI, 6 speed, 200 BHP(German Horses not Japanese ponies) & 207 ft/lbs of torque @ 1800 RPM, a race car in disguise, have had it up to138MPH/ 225KM & was not still flat out, one great car.Mick B.
-
my two are both volvos, the big old thirsty 850 has 260,000 miles and cost me £300, and the latest one is a v40 GDI (with the mitsubishi petrol injection lean burn engine) doing over 45mpg on the motorway, which cost me a whole £400, that one has about 180,000 miles on it. I never buy new cars and the volvos are both still going strong, actually come to think of it I probably spend less on my cars than most of you do on your models, plus I do all my own maintenance, had a few new front wishbones on the 850 (the steering ball joint is integral) plus new seats on the suspension, the volvos are a dream to work on, designed to make life easy for their mechanics.

My dad has an 850 as well... Had it 10 odd years and reckons its cost him less that a grand in parts over 10 years (including new tyres)

A Honda and I dont care if some people think there only for old people coz I am old but unlike me the car never fails and lets the wife down.
Regards Howard.
-
Before my present fleet, LOL, I covered one & half million KM's in two VW Jetta's & an Audi 5000s. Back then I used to drive eighty to one hundred & twenty thousand miles a year, I drove 2500 Miles on many weekends just to race & a single trip from here to Yellowstone would be about 3,500 KM.Fuel was cheap then, about 35 cents a gallon, so it was not an issue. Mick B.

Just picked up this 2010 Shelby Cobra Mustang this summer. What a beast , 540 HP of supercharged go power. Great fun. It comes with a complete book of speeding tickets. Merely tear one off and pass to the constabulary. Saves them writing time.
According to Car and Driver magazine, this month, the 2015 Mustang will have full independant rear suspension, however, it won't be able to fit the 5.4 litre engine.

after owning a couple of honda CRVs I now drive a Mazda3 MZR CD it's the turbo diesel version not often seen down here in Tasmania, heaps of power and out tows any CRV, I can safely say that I wouldn't buy another petrol vehicle.

Hi
Audi Q3 Diesel. On a recent round trip of 3000klms. to Pretoria with the vehicle fully loaded it averaged 7.1 litres/100klm and a average speed of 108klm/hr.(and before anybody asks I used cruise control set at the speed limits which most of the may was 120klm/hr)
-
Alan Audi & Volkswagen are now building the best cars on the planet, just think what it would have done cruising at 90kph. A tip for even better milage, raise your tire pressures to 34psi front & 32psi rear on the highway. They won Lemans this year with a a diesel electric car, they are in a class of their own, just no beating them these days. Mick B.

My car in 1990, BRISCA Stock car F11. Those were the days. Geoff
