Title: Threads - 2BA or 5mm ?
Post by: Geoff Cropper on March 17, 2011, 09:38:45 pm
Hi guys,          I have an old brass ww2 type propeller threaded either 2BA or 5mm.      How do I find what thread it is, as I'm told that 2BA and 5mm are almost identical ?         George Sitek doesn't do BA threads any more.    Does anyone still make BA threaded prop-shafts?          I'll visit the hardware shop tomorrow for a 5mm bolt.        Sorry, should have thought of that before, another senior moment eh.          Regards  Geoff.

If its very old it is almost certainly 2BA
You might have to buy a 2BA die to thread the shaft and don't forget some cutting oil!
