Title: Thunder-Tiger Victoria rigging problems
Post by: Fidalgo on April 15, 2011, 05:45:27 pm
First time poster

Having difficulty completing the rigging on this sailboat.  >>:-(    Fittings supplied are generally too large and heavy for a class boat.  I'm having "fun" finding suitable alternatives at JoAnn Fabrics and Cabela's.

Would like to exchanged ideas with someone having a similar experience.

Take a look at http://www.okanaganmodelsailboat.org/Step-by-Step.html (http://www.okanaganmodelsailboat.org/Step-by-Step.html)

Not suggesting you copy everything there but it should give you some ideas.

Mike:

Thank you that site has given me some good ideas.

My "Vic" will be built pretty much "stock" and until I gain some experience with it on the water  I'm resisting the temptation to "go overboard" with modifications.

I do have prior R/C sailing experience but not the a boat the size of the "Vic".

Can you refer me to a site that offers custom sailboat graphics?  My boat's name will be Fidalgo" and I have some graphic design ideas.

I had mine made at a sign/vinyl lettering shop, one was online the other was local. Check around prices vary, if you know someone into scrap-booking they might have one of the cheap vinyl cutters that are getting popular. Check your yellowpages if there is someone local go see them and explain what you want maybe you can get a deal.
