Title: Plans for a Sydney Ferry anyone?
Post by: Martin (Admin) on March 01, 2007, 06:53:43 pm

Via an email to Mayhem....

Hi,
I was wondering about the Sydney Ferry. Do you have or can you get the plans to build the ferry? I was living in Sydney, in the Rocks and I was one of the persons aboard the Sydney Ferry when she had her last run before being decommissioned and would love to build her as a tribute to my old life in Australia. I have recently moved to the Uk for personal reasons and it is hard to find plans for any Australian boats.

So in short if you know where I might get a copy of the plans could you please let me know?

Kindest Regards,
Leo

Try this web site:

                       http://www.australianheritagefleet.com.au/LibRes/NLibRes.html

They say and I quote: The collections generally relate to Australian subjects with particular emphasis on New South Wales and Sydney. They include:
numerous photographs, including many from the heyday of NSW coastal shipping
several ships’ plans, including plans of some of the Fleet’s own vessels. Some of these plans may be suitable for modellers

Thanyou both for your quick replies.

I belive but i am not certain at this point, the ferry i am looking for is the lady class, Lady Cytler. I have emailed a frined of mine who i was on the ferry with for the last race and am awaiting a reply. (knowing them it shoudl take a couple of weeks.) I know however for a fact that it was a Lady Class ferry, just not sure which one.

Sorry Richard,

It was a long day and i saw both posts, but did not look at the name/s. It was the Lady Class Ferry. So if youo know where i might be able to get my paws on it i would be most grateful. The link you gave is great, however they don not have a section to contact them about plans. I have emailed them and i shall wait, however i do not hold my breath.

Hi,

Scroll down the web page on this link  http://www.afloat.com.au/www/79/1001127/displayarticle/1198077.html (http://www.afloat.com.au/www/79/1001127/displayarticle/1198077.html) and there is a reprinted article on the Lady Cutler. Is this the particular ferry you mean?
