Now that I have got started I may as well continue.
Another of my "boats" is the steam trawler "Bayflower". Another of Mr. Pottingers plans. The plans as originally published in another journal were too small to build at 1:36 (makes up to 5'). So I got a set of the "builders" plans from the Hull Fishing Museum. Perfect....and quick and cheap. Thank you Hull.
The trawler is actually "Bayflower" built in 1933 (I think), but I liked the look of the "cruiser" stern instead of the more usual "counter" stern of the period. She was also one of the first trawlers to have hydraulic steering gear. (Big rams under the dinghy).
The model was stolen but as I still had the hull mould I rebuilt her. Not wishing to "do" "Bayflower" again I renamed her "James Cullen" after a deceased TMBC member who had been a Ch.Engineer on steam trawlers and gave me lots of advice on this type of vessel. R.I.P. Mr. Cullen.
The model was to be my "winter" boat and is heavily built. At 53" long and deep draughted she weighs 56lb. Still goes like a train if required.

Absolutely beautiful Bryan and trawlers are not really my cup of tea. If someone ever stole something like that from me, that I had built, I would be devastated.

Another inspiring build, Makes me want to go out to the shed and start a new project however I know I could never match anything as good as this......

Yes, got this one....the striking thing is the huge size of the mast lights. I have also often wondered if I made the funnel a bit short. BY
