OK got the bug for a springer, so during the Alford show and bugging my brother to buy me one over the day he caved in and got me one thanks bro.So with a springer hull from Macs mouldings as a base to start with on with the build. The first thing to do was to make the keel for the prop shaft

(http://s3.postimage.org/2d9vpimkk/DSC01412.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/2d9vpimkk/)
don't no if it just me but this was the easiest keel and prop shaft clue up i have done. as a matter of interest the tug will be based upon one of these
(http://s3.postimage.org/2dd06285g/MARSHARb08011910mn.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/2dd06285g/)
(http://s3.postimage.org/2dd8fqymc/916844.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/2dd8fqymc/)
up next was the nudge bars
(http://s3.postimage.org/2ddsa74jo/DSC01415.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/2ddsa74jo/)
(http://s3.postimage.org/2ddvl9tj8/DSC01416.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/2ddvl9tj8/)
well that's it no going back now
-
Wow you don't waste any time do you. looking good so far ship mate.
Ali.
-
Good choices of prototypes, keep the build pics coming. I like the green one with the triangular boom/crane structure.
-
OK day two of the big builds Deck supports and the start of the rudder make up
(http://s1.postimage.org/13n9sabr8/DSC01420.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/13n9sabr8/)

(http://s1.postimage.org/13nva9u6c/DSC01424.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/13nva9u6c/)
with this done up next will be the motor and battery trays up next to be built, power for this tug will be the graupner 600 motor running on 12v
(http://s3.postimage.org/347m4viro/DSC01425.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/347m4viro/)

"Flash....Ah Ahhhh....Saviour of the universe!"
Oh, its a tug, sorry, thought it was a hat.
Apologies to all the legions of Springer tuggies out there, I dont mean it really :-))
-
don't no how i did this after only having a few hours sleep after 24hours of motor racing but ha needs must. the next thing to do was the battery trays, these were positioned twowards the back of the hull to give the tug a nose up stance when at rest and help with the nose dive when running ?
(http://s4.postimage.org/32plbwp7o/DSC01430.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/32plbwp7o/)
(http://s4.postimage.org/32pry236s/DSC01431.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/32pry236s/)
(http://s4.postimage.org/32qxahrj8/DSC01432.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/32qxahrj8/)
with the trays done then came the steering servo mount
(http://s4.postimage.org/32s0ze3dw/DSC01438.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/32s0ze3dw/)
(http://s4.postimage.org/32s4agsdg/DSC01440.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/32s4agsdg/)
when the motor is clued in then i can position the radio gear and sound unit
(http://s4.postimage.org/32uvipm04/DSC01440.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/32uvipm04/)
well thats it for today need sleep as a bit of a tease here's some pics of Biro's springer

-
Nudge bars??? NO NO NO NO. They are PUSH KNEES. O0 O0
<*< <*< <*<
Ned
-
nudge bars push knees same thing :}
-
They look just about right and in proportion. What you could do is cover them with a rippled rubber. This will fatten them up and be great for pushing with.
Ken

bat 44 do you by any chance compete in the formula 1000 series in a Micra and your Father used to compete in a Corsa...Have I got the right person or am I totally wrong, but if you are who I think you are well I would be right and your sername is Burns
Stav
-
I had to extend my <*< <*< PUSH KNEES >>:-( about 2 or 3 inches below the water line, because everything I tried to push would roll under the boat. Water polo balls, sticks whatever.
-
Stavros
er no
-
CGAux26 water on the knees is not nice :} :} :D :D
-
OK if you have a tap on the ankle %% %% %%

Hi there, looking good. It's a Models By Design hull isn't it?? Keep up the good work, I fancy buiding another springer but a WAY overpowered one with loads of grunt... Dave. :-))
-
hi six yes it is a model by design hull not a mac's mouldens like i said at the beginning. any way back to the build started to detail the bridge with window frames and some inside detail
(http://s4.postimage.org/1nkhbedpg/DSC01475.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/1nkhbedpg/)
(http://s4.postimage.org/1nkpl346c/DSC01476.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/1nkpl346c/)
(http://s4.postimage.org/1nkzib750/DSC01480.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/1nkzib750/)
(http://s4.postimage.org/1nlb32mlg/DSC01481.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/1nlb32mlg/)
to help with the scale look of this build some more detail was needed so to this end a hole was cut out to represent the accesses to the engine room in the bridge tower this will be detailed up some more with tubes and some odds and ends
(http://s1.postimage.org/roq8777o/DSC01486.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/roq8777o/)
the next thing to make is the steps for the bridge
(http://s1.postimage.org/rr0x2jwk/DSC01473.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/rr0x2jwk/)
(http://s1.postimage.org/rr96radg/DSC01488.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/rr96radg/)
well that's all for to day don't won't to rush things do we now
-
bat44, thats two plugs you've got in for traders. Are you on commission? {-) {-) Thanks for your support at Alfold.
Alan

if only i was :embarrassed: :embarrassed: :embarrassed:
-
OK with two BBQ under one's belt not much moderling has gone on over last two days, and with a weeks Holiday coming up not much this week ether.started on the roof for the bridge and made one set of steps on the side of the bottom structure and also started to detail in side of the tower no pics of this as it was hard to focus the camera on the detail in this area as it is all white, but some pics of the rest of the work done today
(http://s2.postimage.org/21203d8is/DSC01493.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/21203d8is/)
(http://s2.postimage.org/2126pimhw/DSC01494.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/2126pimhw/)
(http://s2.postimage.org/212iaa1yc/DSC01496.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/212iaa1yc/)
like i said not much done today but at least some thing was done
-
What started life as a hat is becoming a fine model, would you like it weathered properly or are you doing it %%
-
well if it cost me nothing then yes because you know you are good you are at it :-)) :} :} :} :-))
-
Nothing...what am I, a charity :o Quality costs....the best, however....priceless.
Excuse me, head coming through :-)
-
OK er in doors said i could have some time doing some work on my boat so here go's. A bit more work on the bridge roof, steps on all three sides of superstructure and aces cut out for the rudder

(http://s4.postimage.org/bhmgozdw/DSC01515.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/bhmgozdw/)
well that's how she looked last night not looking to bad so far, i think i need to clue the deck down next so i can put the hull sides on. i did make a ships boat but not to sure if it is right
(http://s4.postimage.org/bjbnktno/DSC01511.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/bjbnktno/)
(http://s4.postimage.org/bjjx9k4k/DSC01513.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/bjjx9k4k/)
well that's it for now will try to do some more tonight if er in doors lets me
-
found some more pics of this type of tugs
(http://s1.postimage.org/2q58379dw/CORMORANTbarges4004_28_03mn.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/2q58379dw/)
(http://s1.postimage.org/2q5lbi1c4/CORMORANTbrmn.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/2q5lbi1c4/)
-
ok back from holes so back to work on the boat. up first clue the deck down, because I'm using the plastic deck two part epoxy was used
(http://s1.postimage.org/pcr2znpg/P7050017.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/pcr2znpg/)
this was left to harden for a day before cleaning up. with the deck now down time to cut out the sides of the hull and placed on the hull to see how they looked with tape
(http://s1.postimage.org/pdo5qll0/P7050022.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/pdo5qll0/)
(http://s1.postimage.org/pdpt9y2s/P7050023.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/pdpt9y2s/)

(http://s1.postimage.org/pfbp33d0/P7050032.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/pfbp33d0/)
well that's it for today now going to have some fun with my mardave now
-
with the sides on with tape and taking a step back and looking at the model it just looked like a big shoe box, so a quick fix by having the sides angel in made it look a little less like a shoe box but not by much
(http://s2.postimage.org/1zsw2task/P7060002.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/1zsw2task/)
with the hull sides looking a bit better onto the next thing to be made and that was the hatch for the rudder access and detail added to it
(http://s2.postimage.org/1zvddu1gk/P7060010.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/1zvddu1gk/)
(http://s2.postimage.org/1zvnb24f8/P7070015.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/1zvnb24f8/)
(http://s2.postimage.org/1zvvkquw4/P7070019.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/1zvvkquw4/)
up next was to card in the nudge bars in with plastic card and a set of steps added to one of them
(http://s4.postimage.org/2m9izg7l0/P7080001.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/2m9izg7l0/)

(http://s4.postimage.org/2maeensys/P7080007.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/2maeensys/)
well that's it for now will post more bits in a few days
-
OK back to work on this build, up next the pain of are life's no not er in doors but stanchions but then she dose come close :D with limited funds after the holiday one had to make my own. the worst part was the top rail which had to include a hand rail for the stairs. with three stanchions and two rails per side not much but still took me a couple of hours to make then clean them up. just a few pics of before and after
(http://s1.postimage.org/ylob962s/P7140009.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/ylob962s/)
(http://s1.postimage.org/ym4umn0k/P7150015.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/ym4umn0k/)

(http://s1.postimage.org/ymvb86x0/P7150021.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/ymvb86x0/)
-
not much going on at the moment, having to much fun racing my Mardave so to keep the build going time to start making the tug look better so out came the Humbrol filler and slapped it all over all the joints.so this is how looks so far with the filler over it
(http://s4.postimage.org/ylog72ec/P7220011.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/ylog72ec/)
(http://s2.postimage.org/h6jrwcpw/P7220020.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/h6jrwcpw/)
(http://s4.postimage.org/ylv2cgdg/P7220021.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/ylv2cgdg/)
(http://s3.postimage.org/12cjq370k/P7220025.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/12cjq370k/)
(http://s1.postimage.org/46w7n1ac/P7220026.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/46w7n1ac/)
(http://s3.postimage.org/12cylxbgk/P7220022.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/12cylxbgk/)
(http://s2.postimage.org/h7lt9c2s/P7220024.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/h7lt9c2s/)
well that's it for now will let the filler go of then rub it down in the next few days and maybe spray some primer on
-
looks great so far, needs weathering, maybe painting also :-)
-
Hi
Look very good to me O0 :-))
That shipping line colour to paint it ????
Timo2
-
so after all the filler and the rubbing down time to start the paint. up first primer this is were the fun starts, like i said at the start this is the look I'm going for so here we go
(http://s1.postimage.org/1zocpnc1w/916844.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/1zocpnc1w/)
a nice used and dirty tug
(http://s1.postimage.org/1zozv66ys/P8050008.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/1zozv66ys/)
(http://s1.postimage.org/1zp4ts8g4/P8050011.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/1zp4ts8g4/)

(http://s1.postimage.org/1zprzb3d0/P8050007.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/1zprzb3d0/)
-
looking good. I have found an article in Tamiya model Magazine that will give you the low down on how to get the deck weathering right. It uses some fairly exotic materials you may not be familiar with, something called 'hairspray'. I will have the mag with me at the display tomorrow... :-))
-
ok2 ok2 ok2 ok2 ok2 ok2
A thing of beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder -- think i`d prefer it with paddle wheels

on it's way :-)) :-)) :-)) :-))
-
not much has happened since the last post what with er in doors and putting up my shed and doing things for the club, any way as this is a pusher tug it needs some thing to push so as a barge was going round the club house so here's some pics of the tug and barge
(http://s4.postimage.org/2vi81ll44/018.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/2vi81ll44/)
(http://s4.postimage.org/2vienqz38/019.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/2vienqz38/)
(http://s4.postimage.org/2vihyto2s/020.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/2vihyto2s/)
the first thing to be made for the barge is a locater for the tug to sit in
(http://s4.postimage.org/2vl2kx3qc/015.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/2vl2kx3qc/)
(http://s4.postimage.org/2vl972hpg/021.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/2vl972hpg/)
last two pics is of the tug and barge together
(http://s4.postimage.org/2vlci56p0/013.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/2vlci56p0/)
(http://s4.postimage.org/2vlrdzb50/016.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/2vlrdzb50/)
(http://s4.postimage.org/2vmg71ijo/017.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/2vmg71ijo/)
well that's it for now hope to start the painting of the tug but that depends on er in doors
-
well with not doing the painting and a visit to the hop farm model show and buying some fittings from mac's mouldings i was able to detail the bridge and replace a couple of things
(http://s2.postimage.org/12k6afj1g/P9230013.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/12k6afj1g/)
(http://s2.postimage.org/12kek49ic/P9230015.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/12kek49ic/)
(http://s2.postimage.org/12kl69nhg/P9230014.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/12kl69nhg/)
not how it comes from mac's mouldings but does the job
(http://s2.postimage.org/12li90ld0/P9230006.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/12li90ld0/)
(http://s2.postimage.org/12ljwjxus/P9230007.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/12ljwjxus/)
(http://s2.postimage.org/12ltts0tg/P9230008.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/12ltts0tg/)
the test fit shows it doesn't look to bad
to help with the detail some parts were replaced with some more of mac's fittings up first was the rear towing post
from this
(http://s2.postimage.org/12p38xnvo/P9230021.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/12p38xnvo/)
to this
(http://s1.postimage.org/maergxz8/P9230020.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/maergxz8/)
one of the things that i did not like was the steps and the ladder for the bridge againe these were replaced with more mouldings from mac's
(http://s2.postimage.org/12q3mraqs/P9230028.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/12q3mraqs/)
(http://s2.postimage.org/12q6xtzqc/P9230029.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/12q6xtzqc/)
(http://s2.postimage.org/12qdjzdpg/P9230030.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/12qdjzdpg/)
plus a ladder was put up in the engine room axses hatch
(http://s2.postimage.org/12qxefjms/P9230027.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/12qxefjms/)
(http://s2.postimage.org/12qz1yw4k/P9230036.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/12qz1yw4k/)
the roof of the bridge was not mist out as a couple of things were added as well
(http://s2.postimage.org/12rzfsizo/P9230024.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/12rzfsizo/)
(http://s2.postimage.org/12s2qv7z8/P9230025.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/12s2qv7z8/)
well that's it for now must start doing the painting soon
-
Needs weathering....Needs weld lines.....looks good.....
-
ok it had to happen i started to paint the tug, only on the out side of the hull but it's a start
(http://s1.postimage.org/2tud16s5g/P9270003.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/2tud16s5g/)
(http://s1.postimage.org/2tulavimc/P9270008.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/2tulavimc/)
(http://s1.postimage.org/2turx0wlg/P9270009.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/2turx0wlg/)
well no going back now, as i am going to weather the tug to well used boat i will try and show how this happens, so wish me luck

so here comes the hard part trying to make a model boat look like a real one. up first to make the Deck look like the paint has been well worn so to help with this look i painted maskol over the deck where i wanted no paint to stick
(http://s1.postimage.org/1gcbtsrpg/PA020014.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/1gcbtsrpg/)
(http://s1.postimage.org/1gclr0uo4/PA020015.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/1gclr0uo4/)
this was Left to dry before the paint was sprayed on
(http://s1.postimage.org/1gf9o6zb8/PA020017.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/1gf9o6zb8/)
with the paint dry the fun part is the peeling the maskol of
(http://s1.postimage.org/1ghsmr2h0/PA020017.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/1ghsmr2h0/)
(http://s1.postimage.org/1gi0wfsxw/PA020018.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/1gi0wfsxw/)
with maskol removed from the deck you are left with an out line of paint and this is were the paint has not bean worn of by wear and tear
(http://s3.postimage.org/1vwk5x7gk/PA020003_2.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/1vwk5x7gk/)
(http://s3.postimage.org/1vwp4j8xw/PA020005_2.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/1vwp4j8xw/)
(http://s3.postimage.org/1vwz1rbwk/PA020007_2.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/1vwz1rbwk/)
well that's it for now the hard part is to come
-
Holy Crabsticks! I suggested stippling it on, not pouring the bottle over the boat!!!
However, in all seriousness, this is the best part of the weathering process. The point at which you go "Oh Hell! What have I done?!" Then you get to drag the weathering back to reality. Good luck and its nice to see a Springer without fur, a tail, Bob the Builder nailed on top, wheels, a flightdeck or Batfins ( now, theres an idea!)
-
ok with the deck colour on then taken of it was time to dirty it up. the first thing to dirty up was the towing post this was done using just 4 colours
(http://s3.postimage.org/29qv4ao04/PA030012.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/29qv4ao04/)
(http://s3.postimage.org/29reyqtxg/PA030014.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/29reyqtxg/)
up next is to dirty the deck this was done by dry brushing brown and orange together
(http://s3.postimage.org/29te2ur5w/PA040003.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/29te2ur5w/)
(http://s3.postimage.org/29u7uj01w/PA040004.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/29u7uj01w/)
with this painted up next was the inside of the hull, again only using 3 colours, to start with i painted a black line into the corners and dry brushed this out
(http://s2.postimage.org/2gt4nxs2s/PA040006.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/2gt4nxs2s/)
this was done to the other colours in the same way
(http://s2.postimage.org/2guow7kv8/PA040005.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/2guow7kv8/)
(http://s2.postimage.org/2gux5wbc4/PA040021.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/2gux5wbc4/)
with this done and with the help of a small brush and black paint was applied to represent chipped paint so with this all done we have some thing looking like this
(http://s4.postimage.org/1rldnk6hw/PA040011.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/1rldnk6hw/)
(http://s4.postimage.org/1rlim67z8/PA040019.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/1rlim67z8/)
(http://s4.postimage.org/1rlqvuyg4/PA040010.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/1rlqvuyg4/)
so that's it so far all one has to do now is to do it to the rest of the boat.
-
looking well worn in might have to use your techniques later on in a build very affective :-))
-
The pupil has become the master.
I have a set of comedy ears you can put on the model when finished, should help to get noticed more then {-)
-
well that's the first part of the weathering done and it dose look like a well used tug
(http://s4.postimage.org/253txvj8k/PA130012.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/253txvj8k/)
(http://s4.postimage.org/25427k9pg/PA130013.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/25427k9pg/)
(http://s4.postimage.org/2548tpnok/PA130016.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/2548tpnok/)
(http://s4.postimage.org/254iqxqn8/PA130018.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/254iqxqn8/)
with the deck done time to start on the super structure this was stared the same way as the deck
(http://s4.postimage.org/2552ldwkk/PA110001.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/2552ldwkk/)
up next starting the weathering
(http://s4.postimage.org/255hh810k/PA130023.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/255hh810k/)
(http://s4.postimage.org/255j4rdic/PA130025.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/255j4rdic/)
well that's it so far this type of paint job dose take time to do but it is worth it. as a foot note this is what the tug will be pushing
(http://s4.postimage.org/2588pgun8/020.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/2588pgun8/)
(http://s4.postimage.org/258do2w4k/019.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/258do2w4k/)
will hope to do something like this on it but that's another story
(http://s4.postimage.org/2590tlr1g/cranebrg01.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/2590tlr1g/)
-
verry nice work keep us updated :-))
-
as my back had me laid up for the last few days but got some more painting done today. To help with the paint in the engine room access area acrylic paints were used as washes to help bring out the detail in this area
(http://s2.postimage.org/1se9is7vo/PA180012.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/1se9is7vo/)
(http://s2.postimage.org/1sejg0auc/PA180008.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/1sejg0auc/)
Even the lockers got the well worn look
(http://s2.postimage.org/1sf9wluqs/PA180036.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/1sf9wluqs/)
(http://s2.postimage.org/1sfveld5w/PA180005.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/1sfveld5w/)
up next to go is the paint work at the front of the superstructure
(http://s2.postimage.org/1sgp69m1w/PA180019.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/1sgp69m1w/)
(http://s2.postimage.org/1sgxfycis/PA180022.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/1sgxfycis/)
(http://s2.postimage.org/1sh90prz8/PA180024.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/1sh90prz8/)
well that's all for today as you can see from the last couple of pics it's starting to come together
(http://s2.postimage.org/1si9ejeuc/PA180029.jpg) (http://postimage.org/image/1si9ejeuc/)

Hi Bat 44--- well I suppose 2 is a lot to the" Numeric`s " in our neck of the woods, I still wondering how he copes
with the plethora of H.M.S. " Grey Things" on the Pond ---- especially when there above 10.
I like the idea of a Teeshirt----what colour and badge ??

May I humbly suggest 'Chav' Blue and white with Ivor the Engines little boiler buddy on it, the text could read "Not good at pushing in broken down Destroyers, please dont ask!"

Ivor had a stoker who thought he was a joker
Just to see the steam rise higher
He'd pass water on the fire

Looks like I missed a nice day at the lake, how many rescues did you do then?
-
looks a very well turned out boat , weathering / rust looks great .
-
Oh my god!!! :o
I've just been looking at this build and what a brilliant job!
I too have recently bought a Springer hull from Models by Design at the recent model boat show in Ellesmere port, and I was thinking about making it into a Scale working tug.
I know it's not following "The springer rule book" concerning motor or prop size but I wanted to make it quite powerful.
I'm a complete newby to model boating so everything is a learning curve.
Your build has given me some inspiration as to what a good pusher tug looks like.
Keep up the good work! :-))
-
more pics second test with barge. welcome darklord thank you for your comments on my tug, if you go down the scale rout there's a lot of boats you can choose from, don't build to a small scale as i think the hull shape is better suited to the larger scale, my tug is built to the scale of 1/24. O well could be shoot for that comment but that is what i think

ok back on with springer, well the barge any way. have been doing this for a bit and have all ready taken it to a few shows,as you can see it's not the barge seen in my earlier posts but a new one purchased at Alfold last year. sorry cannot remember who from, if i remember right it's one of four sizes. so up first some early pics of the build
-
ok and how she stands now part from a bit more paint
-
Can I just confess to the following... I liked the colours of your dingy on the back of the barge so much that I partially copied the colour scheme for the one on the back of Resolve. :}
-
thats ok makes a change
-
ok started painting the barge. first i painted on maskol then remove some of it,then sprayed on the main coat. when this had dried i then removed the paint on the maskol to give me a used and worn look
-
also painted some of the maine fittings as well
-
Brilliant work :-))
john
-

Wow.
Nice work Sir.
-
Thank you it's getting there. Trouble is when this is done i'm planing to make one or two more to go with this barge
-
A lot of effort has gone into this. Well done, it looks lovely. :-))
Ken
-
Thanks ken had this on the go since 2012. Just a few things to do then it should be finished?????
-
Very nice, did you make the Skip?.
Len.
-
Hi len the skip is from mac's mouldings as is some of the other fittings. The crane is from model slipway, and some are home made fitting
-
to have somthing different on the table when doing static shows, and seeing other moderlers having the same idea, i have come up with this over the last 2 weeks
-
that was the first week. and this is this weeks work
-
will try and get some pics of the tug and barge along side the pier over the next few days
-
Some pics of my tug and barge on the water
