Title: ORP Dzik (U Class)
Post by: Davy1 on June 22, 2011, 12:33:00 pm
I thought I would share something about my latest project.  This is a U Class sub, built in Barrow and operated by the Free Polish Navy as ORP Dzik (Which means Wild Boar and is pronounced Zheek) My first WW2 submarine and my first with twin screws.

She is driven (fairly slowly - but they were not very fast subs) by 2 x 385s and a 3 cell Lipo. Pressure tank ballast system.

Overall I'm pleased with this model. Quick to build  (less than a year), no fibreglass smells and very low cost (<£200). Looks reasonably scale like and fits along a car seat.

The video below shows her in with the warships at Alfold. (+ Ian's Neger and Andys Subsonic)
