Title: Sturdy working Bollard replacement

Hello All.  I am trying to secure a bow unit for rescue "pushing" sailboats.  The unit just fits onto the forward Bollard of the Dickie tug which of course is useless for any useful purpose.  has anyone tried replacing that bollard with something strong and sturdy and functional but also realistic?  There used to be a model tugboat supply store somewhere but I have lost track of it if it is still viable.  I thought that they had metal bollards of different sizes.

Make up your own using some brass tube 4mm dia is a good start, you can drill a hole near the top and put in a smaller 1 or 2mm rod to give something to hook on to silver solder it in place.

Then mount in place through the hull and forward bulwark with a block of wood at the base, fill the hollow brass tube up with some wooden dowling, or resin to strengthen.

No need to buy anything when bit of brass tub can do the job so much better, this is what the large model tugs use! and they tow 100LB + of dead weight off them, ok theirs are about 8-10mm dia, but for a seaport 4mm will be more then adequate.
