Title: Sub retirements?

I was watching a prgramme last night about Sub recruits on ch5 and was just wondering how long Subs are used for before they are replaced. HMS MONMOUTH vs HMS TRIUMPH.

The Swiftsure class all made 30 before paying off ( apart from Swiftsure herself , she had problems during a deep dive when relatively new and over stressed her hull so was turned into a test and development hull paying off early ) and I'd expect the Trafalgar class to be the same
