Title: The "USS-SGN Theophilus F. Rodenbough"..
Post by: Patrick Henry on July 24, 2011, 08:38:18 am
This is the state of play so far...just awaiting the leveller to arrive(should be here tomorrow)and then the internal fitting out is practically done.

(excuse the junk on the windowsill, only just noticed that... :embarrassed:)

Very nice.
Pardon my ignorance but is it a kit, if so, where from?
I cannot even find the original on Google.
My son has been thinking of a nuke.   Maybe next year when he is over racing his MX5.

It's based on a set of mouldings from MMB(Marks Model Bits)but much altered.

The sail is scratch built as the one supplied was far too thick and heavy, the tail feathers are a mix of parts from my odds box and the ones supplied with the mouldings and the deck fittings are scratch built.

The internal layout is all my own design, and uses a screenwash pump to fill/empty a sealed ballast tank. She has a bow thruster fitted to assist her to turn, and the electronics are mixture of Action Electronics, Microgyros and various parts made by John Robinson of the AMS.

Radio is a Robbe F-14tx and a Corona 8channel rx.
