Title: Building Sun Tug XX1 Tug using the Kingston hull moulding
Post by: murphy1570 on July 25, 2011, 01:05:47 am
Hello folks,
I bought this grp hull and plan from Kingston Mouldings some ten or more years ago I have recently found it after all of these years tucked away in a dark corner of our loft, and after joining this web site my interest in model boats has been revived, I wondered if any fellow member has built this model using the Kingston hull and if so I would be grateful of any help or advice that might help me on this project, as I am a relative newcomer to building model boats,  though not a complete beginner to model building,   All advice will be gratefully accepted.
Thanks all the best,John.

Admittidly, mine was built from the Lesro kit and have to say the kit itself leaves a lot to be desired!
use the link as quoted above to my build, or the more detailled biuld blog on model tug forum.
but if either of you hit any snags or need any help, please feel free to contact me as I did have loads of advise from 2  retired sailors who used to work on the Sun tug Fleet.
I originally purchased mine as a MK21  but converted to replicate a MK25, complete with the fire monitors for tanker work in the Thames
