Has anyone else bought one of these new mini Footy's from Joysway?
http://www.joysway-hobby.com/Product_show.asp?proid=490 (http://www.joysway-hobby.com/Product_show.asp?proid=490)
I bought one last week and I have to be honest, I was most impressed with the build quality (For the price) and the fact that it sailed superbly. I was expecting it to pancake with every breath of wind, but it didn't, it sailed exceptionally well for such a tiny boat. I'm well chuffed with it, I don't know how it would compare with a full sized Footy in racing terms, but it WILL fit into the Footy 'Size' box as it's only just over 10" long.

They are cheaper from Sussex Model Centre (http://www.sussex-model-centre.co.uk/shopexd.asp?id=35877)
But I bought mine direct from Mick at Williamsons Model Land in Doncaster, as he has supplied most of our clubs new MFA Piranhas, I got it even cheaper :-))
The sheets are actually stainless steel, not thread and the yacht is so small, you can sail it in a puddle almost {-)
It responds to the controls very well and is quick and agile, I'm most impressed with it.

Totally wrong there Timo2 ok2
I have owned a B squared yacht which was MUCH bigger, far inferior quality and sailed like a wet paper bag, it was total rubbish.
This little yacht is at the other end of the spectrum to that B squared thing which pancaked if a duck let off anywhere near it.... {-) {-) {-)
Hope this helps,
Nige :-)
Edit: Perhaps I'm being a little unfair calling the B squared rubbish, in my eyes it was, but I suppose for the price it sold for, it was at the low end of adequate for a learner..... :-)

Hi

Rich asked me what the inside was like :-)
The 2 servos are real ones!
They connect to the 27mhz receiver, which is then all silicone'd up to stop water ingress, and the Lipo battery sits on the top. A very easy conversion to 2.4ghz if required....hmmm I have several spare Planet receivers...... ok2

Video please :-)
I'd love to see a race series start for these little wonders! O0

Martin,
I took 2 videos last week at the pool, but on playing them back, one had an incessantly barking dog on (One of our members brings it every week >>:-( <*<) And the second one took by a friend was mainly of the water, the wildfowl, the trees, a plane flying overhead...etc.
So I deleted them both..... :((

You can 'blank' the sound track on YouTube or even replace it with a huge selection of music! >>:-(
-
Not mine, but it shows the other 2 different colour ones having a play :-))
