The Dive-in returns! First of all many thanks to those who came along
last week to Dive-in to Dusk at St Albans. We will not be returning
there until 2012, but we now have an even bigger puddle to play in at
Brockwell Lido.
The original Autumn Dive-in at Brockwell has had to be moved forward a
month in order for us to get exclusive access to the pool. For those yet
to attend, this pool is very large indeed- almost as wide as the St
Albans pool is long, with plenty of depth. More information on the pool
here-
http://www.fusion-lifestyle.com/centres/Brockwell_Lido
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brockwell_Lido
There is also an excellent cafe on site, which serves great coffee and
mouth watering breakfasts and lunch with a very wide menu. Please take a
look at their website for more details- http://www.thelidocafe.co.uk/
There is a car park outside the pool. This has been free up until now,
but I believe there is a small charge now to pay if staying for longer
than 2 hours. I will find out if this has been implemented yet and send
out an update.
All details for the event, including postcodes for sat navs are printed
on flyer, but if you have any other questions just pipe up.
Look forward to seeing you there!
Andy

Pencilled into the diary. I'll dust off the Typhoon again for this one ;)
-
Just a heads up, 1 week to go :-))
-
Akula dusted off already will be traveling down on the saturday for this one

I'm sorry to say that this event is now cancelled. I only found out today that the pool will now be unavailable owing to maintenance work- this was very short notice.
I hope those coming long distance haven't been too inconvenienced, but this is something beyond my control.

On a nautical theme the National Maritime museum is worth a visit, as is the Imperial war museum (couple of small submarines in there, a German Biber and an Italian Miale). Chatham Historic Dockyard is about thirty minutes by Train from Central London, and of course there is the opportunity to do some Christmas shopping or take in a show.
-
missus dosnt mind being at the pool side with a camera but to walk around a museum that we have already seen I think she would have a word or two to say about that christmas shopping you say baa humbug not the same as sailing me sub is it blo-ody pool maintance guys <*< <*< <*< <*< <*< <*< <:( >>:-( >>:-(

Are these events at the Lido still free of charge?
-
As indicated on the flyer, there is a charge, the price is set based on projected numbers; payment is made on the day of the event, and the more that come, the cheaper the admission.
The Brockwell events were free until Fusion decided to charge for hire of the facilities.

Thanks for the update, Andy.
I am a bit out of touch with these since it is some years now since the AMS was responsible for them.
