Title: Carbon Fibre Masts and Fittings

Whats the recommended method for attaching rigging lines to carbon fibre masts.

Im upgrading a Fairwind, and an article I read refers to something called Tangs - but I cant find these anywhere at the moment.

The article also mentions that because of the stiffness of CF tubing, that spreaders are not necessary, has anyone any comments on this statement

Hi,

Tangs are designed for use attaching rigging end fittings with standard pin sizes, to a wide range of Mast Sections.

On my Marblehead yacht I use spreaders as at 6 feet in lenght the mast will bend.

However on the Footy yachts the masts are only 16 inches long and do not need spreaders.

I made little aluminium tags for my Victoria and pop rivetted them to a 8mm cf tube
lines are attached to the booms by cotter(split pins) in 6mm cf tube
