Good evening all of my Friends ...
when i think about my favorite cars,i always remember about Papa's Fiat Premier Padmini, and yes faithful gull wing. when i was a kid, it was my ever favorite world..the gull wing.. and in my child hood, that fascination turned to the Knight Rider..but still Gull wing is an inspiring automobile..so, here i took that machine in to my fantasy world,of model boat making..
Here, i once again saying a million thanks to the Senior, Veteran our VC Sir, from my RC INDIA Forum, for the lovely boat kits, is a value for money, and easy to build, and suitable for a simple beginner and yes, expert..i am waiting for 3 more same kits, as some of our friends and seniors of my native planned to organize a RC Model Boat Club of Mahe.so with this model, the segment goes in to 4 individual crafts, with same power plant and mechanics, so for model racing in to 4 tracks.so, we are on the move..
so here is the start..i took about half an hour to complete the full hull structure..
-
once again, sorry for the multiple postings, as my connection is too slow..trying for a new 3G connection.. :((
its too easy to follow while hearing my favorite songs..
-
its complete..
and started working with Polyester putty, for easy grinding and for good finish..i added hardener in 1:10 ratio for easy sanding..
-
as she is intended to run in all season, in open river as part of our model boat club,i applied a nice coating of anti fungal along with metal red oxide to protect balsa from all destructive creatures..fully water proof..
and powered by a 1000rpm/volts BLDC, and scale prop she is far capable. actually, this motor was collected from, one of my friend, in our Forum,as part of my project work.but later my client convinces to fix all new things for him..so i got motors and ESCs spare..but its awesome powerful..
-
showing the simple steering mechanism, and motor shaft coupling..by removing the stud, can take out motor in seconds..
-
shows the combination..
and started to add splash guides, to make her a aqua planer..wooshhh...
-
after checking the hull, it was time to go for super structure..here showing the actual super structure..
but its the time to add imagination..a lots..so i turned in to the gull wing concept..
-
the profile view..
and in close up..
-
sorry..poor connection..
-
with doors in place..
made hinges from foam board circles, cut half to form each hinge.
-
hinges in detail..
-
its easy to fix a flush type hinges..
doors are opened..
-
used some drops of hydraulic damping liquid in to the each hinge base preventing it from drooping..actually this compound is used to damp, the turning pressure in a volume controller shaft..
in position..
-
over the hull..
rear view..the opening is intended to coll the BLDC..and electronic components..
-
attached angle controllers at rear transom..to avoid over planing..by some trial and error methods..
almost complete..
-
now..time to paint..i still remember the prestigious yellow of the same gull wing car..but i cant find a same yellow of that..so i added some kum kum powder along with a little talcum powder to enamel paint, to get a smooth sheen finish and intense yellow color..
windows from drawing paper..seasoned, and painted in aluminum paint..
-
super structure..with decals..
-
rear..
and hull with po red base..
-
super structure in detail..with window attached..
-
now..with decals..
-
various angles.
-
door opened..
front view..
-
showing finished dampers..
wait for drying..
-
the navigation lights were made out of chubby L E D s, painted to mask, in 120 degree..
the bollard is made of, brass welding rods..
-
at pool side..
and canal..
-
she is amazingly stable..nothing is added for stability..
-
now..the time to go..after qualifying round, service crews re tightening the wind shield screws..to the torque..
start to sprint..
-
now..face up..she is too fast even at half throttle..so, today i am alone while shooting the videos..so afraid of overshooting in to shores and bushes..cant control the high speed machine alone with camera in one hand and Tx in other hand..still i managed to shoot some video..almost less than 50% throttle..she is flying..really a awesome machine..
here you can see how simple it is to make a lovely craft..its all simple..and exciting.. :-))
and yes..sure..here is the exciting video..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxOTJqL0MOA
