Anybody else having a problem logging onto ModelWarshipsUK?
http://modelwarshipsuk.informe.com/forum/
Darren
-
Tried earlier and it said "CLOSED. Any problems please contact myself and my email address"
-
:o Bummer, hope everything is OK...
-
I am also having no joy logging in.
Difficult to contact Stu without access, to find address etc!
Let's hope it is just a glitch.

I signed up over 2 weeks ago, still havent got authorised yet. They said be patient but tbh, I dont think anything is going to happen.
-
When signing up you need to drop Helen an email to let her know it's not spam, hopefully when it's back up n running you will be able to get that sorted.
-
Site e'mail address- modelwarshipsuk@btinternet.com
-
Was fine earlier today and saw no issues with any posts. Could be a spam attack
-
I'm thinking same, I posted on it probably no less than an hour ago..

Yep, done that twice already.
Appreciate they may get spam but tbh, I've lost interest in it now if they cant see a proper email request from the spam.
-
At one point there were 40 bots trying to create an account for every one human!
The wording sounds a bit drastic though
-
Aye does a bit, glad I put some posts/pics onto my blog before now..
Hope all is OK.
-
Just in case should we be pulling together an email mailing list to stay in touch?
-
Very good idea. Hard bit is getting hold of emails to ask them in the 1st place.
Be an idea to try find out which boards most will frequent should the worst happen..
Which reminds me, are you doing a 1/96 Lynx by any chance??
-
No Lynx at the moment, but possibly in the future.
Im happy to make a list of emails and then send the list back to everyone on it in a month or so.
-
Do you really think it's going to come to that David, or is that just worse case scenario??
Is there nobody on the MWUK forum who can contact Helen or Rob to see what's going on
after all it was working early yesterday evening.

I couldn't log on yesterday afternoon, to post pictures of build of HMS Invincible; nor re-organised folders of past photographs on builds; (my photobucket of ~3,000 pictures was becoming unmanageable and I was re-organising them to smaller albums for ease of finding, so some lost to both this and MWUK forum temporarily - but now find the threads on MWUK are deleted so pointless reposting).
Madrob (Administrator), can't log on today either.
With regard registration it is slow; but thats because it goes through only one person as far as I know, Helen, and she's overwhealmed with Spammers and tries her best to sift them out.
Believe Brianc can still log on if you have his addy.

The forum is currently being reassess as it has come to light over the last few days that there is a lack of confidence in Helen and myselfs abilities to run the forum and they feel we should step back and allow others to move it forward.
So to that end we have closed the door for now while we discuss what the future of it will be with us involved.

Thank you for that reply Stu. I hope the forum can move forward and grow to its full potential.

Thanks Stu.
Fingers crossed it works out for all concerned, would be a great shame to loose the forum, met some great people on there, would be a great shame to loose contact.

Although not heavily active on the forum at the moment It Is a great source of Info, I hope you Both Decide to carry on. Ignore those who critisise and let the forum develope its own Identity which in my view is exactly what it was doing, I emplore you not to go the way of others, and to keep the forum going and under your leaderships.. And besides that what will the mods do !!

Ah the familiar tones of running a forum.....
I really don't think many people think about the time, effort and costs it takes to run a forum.
I've had to increase the hosting for Mayhem again so if you want to host it as part of Mayhem or as a sub forum, we'd be happy to help....

Totally agree with Larry on this.
The MWUK forum is a goldmine of information on everything related to model warships, it would be a shame to lose such a valuable resource :-))
And I quite like my name in green O0
-
Cos it matches the colour of his webbed feet from all the work he does at the NWW :-)) %%
-
After quite a long discussion between helen and myself the board will reopen in a few days with a couple of changes. thanks for your patience in the matter.
