Title: MMM Rosgarth - info please.

I am building MMM's Rosegarth. I collected the fittings last weekend and am now trying to work out which way to fit the Rope Hawsers - see picture. Does Part A or Part B go inboard?

Part 'A' goes outboard, is trimmed to fit thickness of hull + thickness of washer. Washer glued on after!

Part  'B' goes outboard, honestly, I am a tug skipper. sometimes on more modern tugs with the more power to size ratio there are  four webs on part 'A'  at 6  and 12 o clock and at 3 and 9 o clock to the tugs bulwarks for strength. Don't put 'A' on the outside it will catch abnd snag on every thing the tug goes along side.

 :( You're both wrong. Part A is fitted from the inside and part B is fitted over the bit of part A that protrudes through the hull on the outside. When part A is trimmed flush with part B, there is a nice smooth profile on the bow that nothing can be damaged by or caught up on.

A goes Inside...B slips over the outside edge of A and  A is  then filed down flush to make nice ring on the outside...
If Fitted the other way round It will catch on everything the tug goes alongside...
I,ve built a few of Brians boats...
You can see one in place on the port aft bulwark of this tug...

OK, the consensus is that A goes inside. Its difficult to see black on black, but Norry's picture makes it clear.
