Title: Damen Stantug 1605 information please
Post by: ixion on September 12, 2011, 06:40:21 pm
Hello,

I have aquired a very nice Damen Stantug 1605 which has been mainly scratch built using a MMM hull it sails beautifully
with twin 555 motors and twin ESC's . It is called CANETTE which I believe is French for duck so I assume this is a ficticious name unless anyone knows different.
It also has the lower half of the hull (anti-fouling) painted black so I assume this is modellers licence as most vessels have a red oxide colour? I normally like my tug models to be based on real current vessels so have considered re painting it to WILANNE but it would be easier if I could find a real in service Stantug 1605 with a red hull but after searching can't find many Stantug 1605' and none in Red, anyone any info please.
Thank you.

There was at least 1 red 1605 Stan Tug, I will ask a contact for a picture.
