Usually a small pond not very big though

Post by: Netleyned on November 25, 2011, 03:30:07 pm
Just had a word with the girls at MMM and there will be no pond available
They are situated on what Yellowbellys call a cliff and therefore subject to
severe frosts so the pond is drained at this time of year as the liner could be damaged
beyond repair.
You are all welcome to bring a boat to show off your skills or otherwise  :D

See you there

Ned

Hi there Ned, should have said hi. Think I might have been talking to Dave Metcalf about 'another project' too. Yes I love the Watson Ann Letitia Russell, should be picking one up soon, just trying to get an idea of how it all goes together.

I was in two minds as to whether to go or not as I've still got bit of 'man flu' but glad I went. Got a few bit's and bobs and had one of Mobile Marines new big 'Euro Boy' lighter/barges.

Also Younger at 70 caught Martin at the burger bar, mind you he needed to keep his strength up carrying that camera and mince pies around....
Nice to see quite a few Mayhemers up there, I think we definitely need a easily identifying badge for those that don't mind being recognised.

Dave.  :-))

Yep proof indeed that I bought Martin his roll I hope he enjoyed it he deserves it , I had a great day and met quite a few old friends , on a sadder note and for those who met him I had to have my beloved G.S.D.Samson put to sleep yesterday he was my best mate and I miss him terribly.
                                           Cheers
                                                 Bob

Sad to hear about Samson. I often think it's more upsetting to lose a beloved pet, their love is unconditional. They're always pleased to see us, ever faithful and cheer us up when we're down. I would be lost without my two little terrors. Im sure we all understand how you're feeling right now, Dave.

Finally made it to a mayhem gathering - I am
not sure about who I talked to, but it
was very enjoyable! - the suggestion about
Mayhem badges was a good one.

Thanks very much, Martin for the mince pie!

Netleyned  - what health warning? -

I too, was expecting home made pies  O0

it was a bit more crowded than I was expecting -
took one photo then gave up!

Another good show, well done Brian, etal.   :-)).

1. Satnav stopped working and I can tell you, the Highways agency are having a real laugh at us or they don't
want anyone to go to Lincoln! I missed my turning by 10 miles, turned onto the A57 which is a small road which
passes through villages, village ponds,, a 30p toll bridge, fields, back gardens, no-mans-land and over a rope bridge!
I had thrown away the old satnav cellulose pulp derived printed backup system (Map) many years ago  and my Nokia
mobile phone satnav is next to useless. Good thing the old 'Sense-O-dircetion' v1 still works!

2. Bob (Young at 70) is a great person and although he was hiding it well, you could see he was real cut up about losing
such a close companion, we feel for you Bob. Thanks for the chat and lunch, top bloke! Glad to hear you got home OK.... eventually!

3. Great to meet up with some Mayhemers, share a mince pie and pit real names & faces to internet pseudonyms!

4. I saw quite a few goods going out the door so i hope the traders were happy.

5. Got chatting with Tom Gorman, he starting telling me about a book he was writing, a sort of autobiography - his stories left
me jaw dropped, almost dropped to the floor!  :o :o :o

5. Picked up Mrs Mayhem & No.1 daughter in Lincoln. Then stopped at Maplins to look for a new satnav. Mrs jumped out into another shop. I got back and drove off. Halfway down the road, No1 daughter says, 'Are we leaving mum then?'

6. Can you repair Tomtom's? Any recommendations for a new (sub£100) satnav?

A very warm and friendly atmosphere, most enjoyable. Glad to have met you Bob but so saddened by your loss, know just how you are feeling - recently happened to us - an irreplaceable companion that gave us so much.

Nice to see you again Dave (Aka No.6) and thank you very much for your help re 'Blackboy' - won't forget the motors for you.

Martin - the pie was nice ...................... but too dry! never did get that cuppa!!!!  {:-{  {-) {-) {-)

A more than adequate easy to use satnav - the Mio Navman M400, have seen them advertised from £45, got mine last year from Comet £59.00
Hope all goes well tomorrow  :-))
                                                            Regards, Tony.
