Title: Engel 825ml Piston Tank Positioning fo Robbe U47
Post by: irishcarguy on October 09, 2011, 01:22:02 pm
I just received my Engel piston tank for Robbe U47, (825ml). Before I drill my ingress and egress hole in the rear bulkhead on the WTC I have a question, Engel states in the instructions to place the piston  ingress and egress port at the twelve o'clock position ( to make sure there's no trapped air in the tank), I am wondering about putting mine at the six o'clock position to reduce drastic bends in the tubing and routing issues.
Anyone have any thoughts and or experience at the six o'clock position for the tank
Thanks John

Reply John

Your inlet and outlet port for water in and out of your piston tank hole needs to be at top of tank if you put outlet at 6 O'Clock you will have tripped air in top of piston tank, as the sub starts to dive air will compress and slightly take in more water which will up set trim the deeper you go. You said about bending pipe on tank what you could use is 90 degree  elbow joint what they use for water cooling on computers if you get stuck i think i have got some
   hope it helps Sub John
