I was just wondering how many that subscribe are still waiting for their copy to be delivered now it's in the shops for sale? I'm getting fed up of this poor service, this is 3rd time this year failed to receive an issue on time. Dave. >>:-(
-
got mine last monday!
-
Hmmm, I'm getting totally fed up of rubbish service and total lack of communication. I like the magazine but this is 3rd time this year a copy hasn't turned up. They're all too quick to take your money off you though. >:-o
-
yes its getting a lot slower took out sub coz they said you get it a lot quicker then the shops someone telling porkys i think but got mine yesterday but understand your frustration.
Regards Howard.
-
It always used to be quicker than the shops but seems to have gone downhill over the last year or so, Dave.
-
Got mine today

Got mine today too. The matter has been raised with the subscription people once more by MHS as deliveries appear to have been slipping again. However, the fact that some people have got theirs earlier suggests that postal delays may also be part of the problem. MHS don't send them out themselves, they go straight from the printers to an outside firm (as do most magazines).
Unlike most other magazines, MB publish 13 issues per year which means that the publication date varies month by month (on a Lunar cycle maybe?!) You do get more mags for your money but maybe the people who send them out have some problems with the concept!
If I hear anything further I will post it here.
P.S. It's worth getting, if only for all the wonderful pics of Steamboat Phil, especially the one of him scoring a SR Bull without a boat. Look out for the one with the dog in it too....

Got mine Wednesday

Well, I have now been told that they are all dispatched on the same day to the Post Office as printed matter. so from the postings here It would appear on the face of it that the extended deliveries are down to Royal Mail. Don't really see what you can do about that.
Colin
-
Thanks Colin, it's just a shame the delivery people are letting them down. I'll have a look at digital issue for now. I like to take a 'real' copy to work with me to have a read on my break, Dave.
-
Got mine early this week and I must say it's a VAST improvement on previous years! It really is a "Celebration of Model Boating" with something about every aspect. A great read!

The problem with freebies is that until the offer closes you don't know how many you are going to need. If you order in advance then you will either not have enough or you will have too many. So there will be a delay while they are ordered, delivered and sent out to people.
Personally I much prefer money off, much easier, immediate benefit and you can spend the saving on something you actually want rather than what the magazine happens to be offering. To me the decision on whether to subscribe or not is determined by whether I actually want the magazine rather than what they happen to be offering at the time as the value of that is usually peanuts compared with the annual subscription.

Picked up mine today at W H Smith.
The Jotunn tug kit looks interesting... not too bad at €300 considering the quality of the kit.

I have a Subscription and I must say that the Mag is always here (Germany) a couple of days before official publishing date. No complaints at all.
-
Hi all, I wonder if they can find Canada on the map, I have not seen mine either, never mind it will make good reading over the Xmas holidays. Mick B.
-
I've still not had mine. I emailed them on Monday and had a reply yesterday, they've apologised and said they'll put a copy in the post. We'll see if that arrives, Dave. {:-{

HI,
got mine at local W H SMITHS SEEN BETTER issues ,
find MARINE MODELLING INTERNATI0NAL a better magazine for my type of modelling cheers LARRY....
-
My Winter Special arrived 2 days ago, and very good it is, too. I much prefer the style and content of Model Boats magazine compared to MMI, but that is just my personal opinion. Both mags are good, but I don't bother with MMI these days, even though I was a subscriber for a couple of years.
Peter.

My local WH SMith always has the specials and the monthly on time and was in there from the 28th which is the only reliable way I can get it on time which works for me. Must say although its not a bad issue I personally dont think its as good as the previous specials. The Arizona and Tug reviews were very good but overall the previous special hit the spot more than this one for me.

Got mine in time, however I'm still waiting for the mini jigsaw gift, 6 weeks and counting....

Still no MAG, they must have really lost their map, Christmas is coming one never knows what it might bring, just wishful thinking, Mick B.
-
Mick,
Have you contacted the North American distributors?
expsmag@expressmag.com
tel:(001) 877 363 1310 which is the contact for ALL North American subscribers (see inside the cover of the magazine)
Having a moan on here won't improve your prospects of receiving this literary masterpiece.... %)

Hooray, my replacement copy finally arrived this morning. Still no sign of the original, suppose I'd better log off and read it now... :-X
-
Thanks for the heads up Colin , I will give it a try, Mick B.
-
Hi Colin, I tried the # as you suggested. For some reason it will not work from here.( Canada ) The operators said that the # would not work from Canada. I will now try using a regular U/k # or I will email them, thank you once again for your help. Mick B.
-
I don't understand that Mick. That is the number on their website so surely it must work? http://expressmag.com/en-CA/magazines/
I don't know what the rules are for phoning the US from Canada but presumably you have to include the country code.
Colin
-
Hi Colin, We don't use a code for the US, they just have different areas as we do in Canada. In fact if you phone Alberta ( my Province) there is a code for the north & a separate code for the south. I had the operator come on the line & said that I could not dial that # from here, so I just gave up at that point, our operators are not the best, probably working in India or some place like that. The only nice thing here is we have NO charge for our local calls, & it costs just 3p a minute to phone most places overseas including Australia & U/K. Mick B.

"Gift" arrived, unfortunatly the mini jigsaw has been replaced by a mini drill with accessories as they ran out of stock.
Bit dissapointed, I now have to sell the drill (already have a Dremel) and get the jigsaw as that's what I wanted in the 1st place..
