I cant believe how addictive model boats can be. I started out several weeks ago looking for a project/humbug gift for my 17 year old son and within a fortnight have completely handed my soul over to admin and his mayhem addict. %% %%
If he was to ever be seen out side a school selling model boats he would be shot, but on the internet he can get away with peddling his wares to all. :police: :police:
is there someform of witchcraft involved here, some form of computer screen mind hypnosis, smack laden keyboards, emails with secret subliminal messages. I was only looking for some thing to do as a one off. i have now spent three days working on a model boat plan and working out which parts of my anatomy are spare and how much i could get for them on flee bay. smutt absolute smutt.
Thanks admin, I love it here :-))
-
sorry forgot to introduce myself .
i am pete from smethwick west midlands, now struck down with model boat sickness. i was looking at buying a second hand boat off flee bay and me and the lad repairing it and them off for a play on the park pond.
now after reading or should i say been infected by admin the evil, we have decided to go the full hog and we are going to make a foam model cover it in fibreglass and fit our own set up inside it, proberly a nice simple set up and from there we can star the rehab.
the thing is once you start to play with the idea of a model boat and then start to read about bait boats and being a fisherman you start to have a NEED FOR A MODEL BOAT rather than a toy.[img(http://i1093.photobucket.com/albums/i435/hedgerowpete/PIC_2767.jpg)][/img]

Aha!
Derek, your photos tell me you have a workshop, and lathes, and a mill, probably several micrometers and shim gauges.
I own a hacksaw but have lost the assembly instructions - will the Evil of Mayhem make me a proficient crafttsman and
free up the wife's dining table again?
Regards Dave
