I thought folk should perhaps spare a thought for missing crewmen of the cargo vessel Swanland that has gone down early this morning in gale force conditions off the North Wales coast. The RNLI and other rescue services have been trying to locate missing crewmembers. This again shows how dedicated and brave these volunteers are and we should be thinking of them while we're nice and warm at home. Dave.

Very bad new indeed, it is owned by the company that manages our company ships. Were in the Channel now and although the wind has dropped and gone round to the NW there is still hell of a swell.
Lets hope they find everybody.

A sad time and I also hope they are found

Very sad indeed, I saw SWANLAND yesterday loading limestone at Raynes Jetty, she has visited twice this week, took one load to Workington on Wednesday then returned yesterday and loaded again and departed for Cowes. I have photographed her many times and had a soft spot for this vessel. Hope they find some more survivors.
