For the benefit of everyone, I'd like to share an experience with you that
I had this weekend regarding drinking and driving. Its relevant during the
forthcoming festive season.
As you know, some of us have been known to have had brushes with the
authorities on our way home from the odd social session over the years.
Well, a couple of nights ago, I was out for a few drinks with some friends
and had a few too many red wines than maybe I should have had.
It happens.
However, knowing full well I may have been over the limit, and knowing I'd
just missed being pulled over by the breathalyser by a couple of cars the
week before, I did something I've never done before - I took a bus home!
Anyway, I arrived home safely, enjoyed the ride and it was all free of
worry about police pulling me over and testing me.
I know we often avoid doing this and take the risk of using the car we came
in to go home in, but...don't do it, the police will eventually catch you!
I'm sharing this experience with you because the incident was a pleasant
surprise to me, particularly since I had never driven a bus before!

...pweeee..just spilt my coffee laughing {-)

Check the bus, you will find it was originally a double decker and not a single, which is how you returned it. O0 O0 O0

oh dear....... >>:-(
The principal of not driving after drinking is not that you will or may get caught :police:
No..... it is that you could cause injury to others or yourself :o
Twenty five yeas ago in OZ.....after mowing 3/4 of the 1/3 acre block on a hot sunny day %) ...sit down & relax with a few [6] bears OK :-))
Eldest daughter rings on the land line [we did not have mobiles then]......."hey dad.....can you collect me from ?????? just a few km away?"
Not a problem.........dive in the crystal clear salt water pool to get rid of the mowing leaves & dust...........finished the beer & collected said child without a thought
Different story these days O0 .....Derek

I also had a junior moment many years ago.Having drunk too much to be really safe(as you did in those days) I turned left into the rod where I live when a policeman stepped out of the gloom
Are you going right to the bottom he said. Can you give me a lift?
What could I say.
I drove on with both windows wound right down,me breathing out of my window and he the passenger one.Good night he said when I dropped him off.
He had been a *guest* at the local pub ie a lock in.
Ah.Happy days :-)) :-)) :-))
