Title: Canal boat

I spotted this today in Leeds near the royal armories museum the guy that owns it has been converting it to look like a sub for a year so far it quite small inside so prob like a real sub

There's another one of these that has a proper "wintergarten" for fair weather dining, but

If memory serves there used to be some officially sanction Royal Navy replicas back in the 60s-70s.  They were built to encourage enlistment (back in the days when we wanted people to join up rather than sacking them).  I distinctly remember a submarine and a destroyer, either that or I'm finally going nuts.

Cant help you there. I do remember seeing photographs of the converted canal boats used as recruiting devices.  Not to be confused with the basis for my HMS Invincible model which was a static waterline model hauled about the country on a Queen Mary type artic. It was never a boat before I converted it.  I think there may be a clip on Youtube about the canal ships. {:-{
