Friends..Colleagues..modelers..it was my long dream to complete the Cape Gull, the Coast guard ship of US Navy, of 50 s..i was seraching for the 3 view and proportion, but couldnt find..so i made the proportional drawings in my PC, and started work..one of the fascinating thing related to this craft is the crew cabin..its very nice and distinctive..
as usual, i started with thermocol..
shaping work..progress..
-
after shaping..started putty work...
and as she is intended to operate in salt water, i coated her in red oxide..
-
installation of motor and gear assy...
after applying the heat sink compound..
-
testing...
-
then started super structure...
-
guide rails were made of sewing needles..
-
super structure all papers...
-
funnel is paper...
mast made of sewing needles..
-
all pipe works were of aluminum wires..
in reality, i couldn't find a turret on real Cape Gull..but i added a turret at front..
-
sorry..lost my connection..
the barrel was made of ear bud shaft..
and the absorber from paper roll..
-
i fixed a micro servo, to drive the turret..
-
started painting...
all round windows are bag lace eyelets..painted in copper..
-
all life rings are made of O rings, of the bobbin winder of a sewing machine..sprayed in german red..
and added the thread..
-
the boxes, actually i do not know what is the real use of these, are made of papers..
i found some racks for rockets, in real machine, but i added two RPG launchers in front..was made from drinking straws..with papers..
-
sliced ball heads from paper pins, as shown, and glued at the base of the rocket launchers, to mimic the rivets..
-
painted in deep green...
the rear machine gun is made of papers..with ball point refil, for barrel, and some thrown electronic components..
-
all details were added with papers..all in scale..
-
scale checking....
and sprayed with filler..
-
gun was oainted in olive drab..and detailed with drybrush technique..
-
and on the craft...
all bollards were made of paper base and aluminum revets..painted in copper..
-
almost complete...
-
a craft without lights..kill me...i saw blue cabin lights some of the photographs attained..so added a strip of blue L E D s...
and a red mast light..
-
now she is ready for the show..
-
look my Friends..how stunning she is..
and meet my captain..
-
Captain in action..
-
finaly..the debut...so stable..nimble..but fast and agile..
-
as i added flange antenna, she is far capable in range..range..only your limitations..
-
from any angle she is beautiful and fearsome..i praises the team of Engineers who designed this beautifully stunning craft..awesome..
-
she how beautiful she is...
and thanks for the thermocol hull..even with her's immense size, she weighs only to 1270 grams, including all electronics and battery packs..

sorry for the repeated postings once again..Friends..i spent hours of time to post all these build log, of this craft, is not to show anything about me, and i am only a humble modeler among you all, but see here how easy to make a real replica..i was working with only some photographs..all scale was sketched in my mind..no plans..no sophisticated machines and equipments..no laser cut parts..no expensive woods..no any extreme electronics..all simple..and see how beautiful she is..when i saw her in water, the mood inspires the real voyages done by her..in real service life..oh..its all far beyond explanations..God..still you can see here how simple is to make a craft..and if i use any costly paints and polishes, the final result may even better..but see what for..? so, do not be lazy..do not keep distance from model making..its all easy..any craft..any size..and any type..cost..? for a lunch..for two..result..? realization of dream..and life..
