Oh ,come on ,,you are all men of substance ,boats are not the only thing ,nor is football . White hall 12 12 ,was the No to call for a crime or other of importance ,only in the U off K . sorry Australia ,you,r lucky ,the B B C gave all the information out ,to Radio home service . when that football was a saturday afternoon pleasure ,and other things ,which have long gone ,,sad innit . God save the Queen .

Oh ! Todays datewhy didnt you say so.
Whitehall 1212 phone number of New Scotland Yard, every body knows that. ;)
-
Dial that no and Inspector Lockhart will arrive at high speed in the Wolsely 6/90 with the bell on the front bumper. So much nicer than the nasty modern sirens.
-
I once saw (a long time ago) an episode of Fabian of the Yard in Canada. You've guessed it - the bell was there on the Wolseley, but a siren was wailing!
And what of ABBey 1234? How much easier it was to remember phone numbers in those days.

Sorry, lost me entirely there! "Public Address"? What's that mean? Loudspeakers on the streets? Give over. BY.
