Title: its my MICRO BOOMIEE...the micro racer boat...
Post by: rathikrishna on February 03, 2012, 07:23:06 am
Good after noon all Friends..modelers..Colleagues..by last two days i got some opportunity to go to nearest town, with my Friend Manoj..and way back, i visited shops of my Friends, who are running Duty paid shops..from there i got ample of unused stuffs..got 4 RC Heli, infra red controlled, and most of theam are out of order due to some simple mechanical deffects..i am thanking to my Friend, Ashraf, who always collects and hands over me a lots of needed stuffs for free..so, i started scraping some machines, so, found some previously scraped machines..so, time to make a micro craft..

one of the great head ache related to the IR controlled machines, are the short range and non usability in sunlight..so, at first i replaced the IR L E D s with more powerful five, and made an amp for it with 2N 2219.and fed to 4.8 volts..so it came well..sunlight..? no problem..range..of 15 to 20 meters..doing well..

so, after some tests and researches, i started making the craft..its a micro sprinter, with a deep v...

at first my plan was to use two of the contra rotating motors, for propultion, as the direction control is done by thrust vectoring by altering the motor speed..

here you can see how little one is..

can see with a theoretically 20 Amps ECM ESC..

and i choose a simple super structure to reduce total craft weight..

at first i decided to go with tiwn motors, but in test runs i found its too powerful, is capable of taking the craft out of water in an acceleration..so i changed my mind to go with a single motor..

the twin motor set is not feasible with this lighter craft..

so..used a single motor, along with a series resistor to reduce motor power..

and she weighs only 25 grams including all electronics and battery...
