Thought you may be interested in a build I did a few years ago. The 40ft coastal Motor Boat is a scale of 1in. to 1ft. It is a plank on frame using 1/32 aircraft ply and covered with a fine fiber glass cloth. It was one of the most difficult rudder systems I have attemped to build but I did get it to operate similar to the actual boat. Enjoy the photos.

That is a work of art George - At first glance is looks quite a simple model until you examine the detail. As usual the
brasswork really stands out.

Hi everyone!
I was searching on the web for 40ft CMB and found this great forum - understood that I can see pictures only after registration. Thanks forum admins for registering me so I can see that great boat of George!
George, is your boat an RC one? Details make it look real - I understand you had a great pleasure building it as do I seeing your pictures.
I am gathering everything I can find about CMB 40ft, have some photos but not plans so far as the only source where it was published ModelShipWright magazine of June 96 is out of stock, wrote to them but they also have not got a copy available. Thinking about building this CMB with petrol engine as it is one-propeller/shaft boat and suits this project well. Have to finish current projects though and find plans for 40footer.
Thanks for great pictures.
Sincerely,

An interesting subject George and thanks for showing it.
How long did it take you to make?

I think my dad knows how you feel about the rudder and its mechanism, he is getting his 55ft CMB rudders to work too and finding a few problems. The torpedo clamps are particularly impressive on your model, my dad can only hope he can achieve such high quality. :-))

Inspirational ! Love the subtle weathering.

Yevgeniy, I think the chap who runs this Ebay shop:
http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Georges-Attic-Gifts?_trksid=p4340.l2563
does a reprint of the 40' CMB plan. It's not listed at present, so try contacting him.

Jonty, thank you for the link - I will try that.
