I've got a Robbe U.47 (early VIIB) and i was thinking about making it a static diver but i don't know what goes where etc. t the moment i'm finishing its dynamic controller doodar.

Most people seem to go straight for an Engel tank for the static diving conversion of the U47. But water pump ballast systems can work well too, and are a lot cheaper. You will need to make modifications to the equipment tray, and use different batteries,as they're isn't enough room for those big lead acid bricks and a ballast tank inside.

i can't find it now, but i remember seeing a photo online where a gentleman replaced the forward SLA in his robbe with a "square" model airplane fuel tank of similar size, and used a small model airplane fuel pump to fill/empty that for his ballast tank.   very easy and inexpensive upgrade to a static diver.
