Unfortunutly sailing at this venue is a NO go at this present time :(

Awaiting an eager email that will be sent to myself this coming week with the outcome on whether we can or cant sail anymore.

I am sorry to all who would like to sail at this lake but things take time to sort out and get all the legal things covered aswell.

Update on sailing.

The company who own the lakes in Whiteley have merged together with a bigger company and have changed all contact details and have LOST or as they said "missplaced" all details of my request to sail, so its back to square one and start all over again.

The battle will continue and I WILL get an answer out of them eventually.

sorry for dragging this out for as long as it has but we all know what these companys are like when it comes to the general public.

Jay,
Just a thought is there a community council or local politician
who may be agreeable to help speak to the company for
you to sail there. We had a local community council that helped us
when we sailed at Renfrew as it brought people into the area
and used the park "correctly". They also gave us money
to buy waders & some club boats so people could come
down and sail a boat prior to getting/ building there own

as I say just a thought

Come to an agreement with the site security officers that we are only aloud to ballast our boats (for the forscene future) so being sneaky we managed a sail at the same time.

Can you post some detailed photos of the "Dog Boat" please? I've started my research for a 1:32 scale. I won't be putting the scalops in her, so it's rare to get pics without them. O0

Many thanks,

Mark

Hi Mark,
If you are after details have you looked in the following publications.
1- Dog boats at war, by Leonard C. Reynolds.
2- Allied Coastal Forces of World War 11 Vol 1, by John Lambert & Al Ross.
You will find all and possibly more than you bargain for in those two publications. I have Vol 2 of the Allied Coastal Forces and I have plans in it to scratch build virtually all the Vosper, British Power Boats plus the US PT boats. There is a good photo in the Royal Navy in Focus series on Coastal Craft showing MGB 604 which was sunk in 1942, I am considering converting my Dog to this one this winter.

Some really nice ships you have there. I love the type 42 and the lake itself, We could have great fun with our landing crafts on that lake edge

It looks from the cafe and the number of people happily sailing that lots of badgering and coercing got the company to have a change of heart and also put a tea room in?

I saulte your perseverance. Alternatively you all managed to become 'Security guards' and wangled sailing perks in your contracts.

You have a nice pond  :-))
