-
nice subs especially the RED HFM :-)) :-))
-
a few water shots of mine... if you want build photos i have a few of those.
-
Got a video of my now sold U47 on YouTube just follow the link ...................... http://youtu.be/LijHj_L-sII
the robbe U47 is quite a good first sub only dynamic dive but if you get bitten by the bug then you will go onto much better subs.
Regards Mark
-
its not a robbe their to big it wouldnt fit in my bike trailer its a hfm 1m one and i mite make it static if theirs enough room i would use a bag system with a pump :-))
-
They have been converted to static divers, but I'd leave it as a dynamic diver. If you're running in ponds which are wadeable or where the boat is easy to recover, you can ballast the boat down until it's only just positively buoyant, then you'll only need a whiff of throttle to submerge, and the boat will be much easier to keep at depth, behaving very much like a static diver.
Although you won't be able to hover the boat, it will return to the surface very slowly once the throttle is cut. If you go below a couple of feet, the boats box may deform enough to make the boat slightly negative, which is why you need to be sure the boat can be recovered should it sink and you're unable to power it to the surface.
-
well i will leave it till i see it when it comes then i will decide
-
Are you talking about the Krick Type VII? It was originally produced by HFM, I think he did a few test shots but never sold it commercially. Krick purchased the rights to it. If it's that boat, it has a dive system already.
-
Yes it is that sub but only comes set as dynamic but in that case will convert back
-
If you ballast the boat so that the decks are awash, it should dive very well as a dynamic diver, effectively like a smaller Robbe Type VII.
Best of luck with this boat- I've seen a couple go all the way to the bottom. I'd recommend thoroughly testing the integrity of the watertight box, which is the weakest link, and don't take it too deep.
-
this one has been converted inc wtc it has 18 ish bolts and proper sub seal
-
I'm doing a Robbe u 47 jobbie at the moment. Gunther Prien's old banger really. I''ve just finished the dynamic dive section but i'm going to connect up the front and rear dive planes instead as this idea seems a bit unreliable.
This one's about 1.70m btw.
Put some piccies up when you can and we might be able help you avoid our happy accidents. :embarrassed: :}
-
dynamics ok i have 2 dynamic divers , but hopefully thiswill be used in a pyro display so dynamic diving isnt reliable enough and static will be fited with fail safe so she blows up to the top :-))
-
going up to london to pick up the sub today =)
-
Did you get it KK? Picys please :-))
-
patience I do have pics of her on the water am going down again tommorow and down the lake again at 6:30 to get a pic of her with the sun low you should come down someday and see it in person offshore
-
630 in the evening? Yeah would be good to see it :-))
Daniel
-
yes 630 in the evening on Thursday guess i will see you there :-))
-
Sweet, hopefully it wont be raining %%
Do you want me to bring the mags with me on thursday?
All the best
Daniel
-
im afraid will have to delay till next Monday or anytime after that the sub sprung a leak and there's a big crack in the wtc <:( so i ripped up the seal and am going to glue the crack tomorrow but then i have to remake the mastic seal and i will give that till Sunday and she will go back out for sea trials :-))
oh and if we do meet next week then you can bring the mags then :-))
-
OH thats abit of a bumer kk how far down did you take the sub?
Will be about next week so sure thing i will pm you my number, when the weathers good want to get down there and use the magic, just waiting for it to turn up :-)
All the best
Daniel
-
Might be worthwhile reinforcing the area around the crack with some additional plastic sheet. The cracking could be due to stress in that area, age, or a reaction with a glue or other chemical or perhaps a combination of all three. Regardless of the cause, that area will now be a weak spot, but if you double it up with some new plastic, that should ensure a reliable repair.
-
used plastic to reinforce glued it now leaving it for an hour or to for the glue to properly cure then i will put a new seal on wait till saturday chuck it in the bath and see if it has gone if so down lake sunday at every day next week lol , except monday
-
new seal put on just waiting for that to fully cure (hopefully sunday)
kk
-
Sweet :-))
Piccys?
Daniel
-
will do them when i actually get up lol :embarrassed:
-
Saw you down there with the sub, level the stern up abit n it should be a good little boat
Daniel
-
really were where u u should of said said hey and the reason the sturn is down is so the airiel (up boww(coning tower)) stays aboouve water and was actually done by front planes full up
-
But your using normal radio gear? the depth of the lake should not be a problem for the rc gear its only about 2 feet deep
Was with my gf just out for a walk, we sat there for abit n watched the sub then left when you walked around the lake with it
Will be down there maybe tomorrow, or tues and on wens racing from 5pm, let us know when your going next n i will bring the yacht down, always find it better when theres someone else about to chat to
Daniel
-
the aerial conections looose and blitchy and ii think the airial got wet so needs replacing with my micron
-
Could you not just get a water tight seal then put it through the water proof box and run it up along the deck? just wake abit of glue over the end of the wire to stop water getin inside the wire, thata what my ohio had worked fine :-))
-
Ben...you listening, young fella?
Once you have that boat sorted PROPERLY, report to my office...I have something for you that will transform it.
Rich
-
sub sorted redid the wiring and new eciever just need the crystals for the reciever as its 40 but the sub was on 27 (mhz) and i dont have my designated frequence rx crystal (my club as designated crystals ) what sort of transformation u33
-
I want to hear from someone in your club that the sub is working properly and is watertight. Once I have that assurance I will send you an auto leveller, free of charge...once you have it, send it to Sub John, ask VERY nicely, and ask if he will carry out the necessary modifications to it and I will pay him for doing so.
Then you can install it in your sub and away you go. How's that sound?
Rich
-
I think this boat is set-up with bow plane control only, Rich.
You could get the rear planes working I guess, but it will require some modification, unless they've been converted already?
-
i have thought about converting aft ones and if the leveller cant work on front nes will look into doing it
-
am going down lake in 10/15 mins for a run offshore
-
Was doing stuff with the gf kk, will be down there tomorrow racing yachts, if your about think we are startin at 5
How did she go?
Daniel
-

-
dan , smaller motor sailer isnt quite finished , i need to make some double purchase pulleys on the lines , just cant get enough throw on the sail arm otherwise . so looks as though im going to have to use my 4 ft oyster smack instead tonight . ben have you still got your graupner true blue yacht , you could join in with ?
-
Im sure we can think up a tool when we see the pics to help you kk
Jon theres some massive clouds over mine atm big black ones :o rain rain go away come again tomorrow lol
Daniel
-
Sods law says the most likely part to fail in a boat is also the most inaccessible.
If there is no access, cut in small hatch, and make good.
-
when do u sail / race your boats
kk
-
sailing takes place , wed eves from around 5 ,& saturday mornings 1030 till 1 ish , the brighter weather was following me back in from eastleigh just now !
-
ben can you get the fittings for your destroyer then something might work in your fleet romanjohn
-
what do you mean by fittings
-
kk ,i think he was needing all of the kit to make it operatable , ie motor / shaft (s) speed controller , rudder servo etc . i spoke to john on saturday
-
hi ben can you please let me know when you are getting the fittings for your destroyer.
