Many thanks for the comments. 83 viewers as well :-) Apart from here on Mayhem, it has been something of a "damp squib" though! <:( Took it to the local model shipbuilding society today, but apart from three interested members, it hardly attracted more than a casual glance!

Maybe people 'only like' a certain type of model (ie sail, speed, cargo, etc) and are simply not interested in any other type, whereas myself and a few others appreciate the skills that went into the building and have a more rounded interest in things nautical.
Your model displays your usual crisp detail and overall presents a very realistic presence. I'd be proud to display this in my home. As I said before, a magic model and excellently done.
cheers

You got that one wrong Bob - I even tried blowing the image up because I wanted a closer look. O0
Also there's more involved in a diorama than just the vessel. Maybe we should have a thread for
them - get a few more of them in view

Thanks for replies. A great deal of interest is always shown here in Mayhem, but I have noticed on the occasions that our local ship model society has displayed models to the public, that they barely attract a glance. With static models, there seems to be a general lack of interest after the tea clipper era (about 1870). In R/C there are lots of supply boats, tugs, ferries, even cruise ships. But I rarely see tramp steamers, tankers, cargo liners or passenger liners of the era 1870 to 1970. Although I am aware that there are models of that era, but they are few and far between!

Beautiful model. It can be, very often, more difficult to build a static model on a display than an RC model. In this case you've captured the water (IMHO) perfectly. It complements the model very well.
Well done.

Keep up the good work Bob, I'm always fascinated with your models. A lot harder at that size than at 1/32.

I, for one, think its a fantastic model.
Would love to have half the skills shown here.
Well done.

You have built a beautiful model, a real credit to your skill. The water is just perfect. It will be admired for years to come. Display it in your home it will make a wonderful conversation piece. Mick B.

I think it's beautiful, perhaps a little too good for some of the shipbuilding society! ;) Thank you for sharing it with Mayhem :-)

That was a nice link you posted Dicky - sorry it took me so long to respond - I sort lost it for a while.
I can see a lot of thought can go into crafting a good diorama.
